The staff was beyond helpful, everyone was very kind and happy to answer any and all questions about the area. They safely stored my bags for 5 days while I was away in the jungle. They arranged pick up and drop off from the Iquitos airport. The breakfast and the accomodations were simple and basic, nothing fancy but it was everything I needed! Very comfortable with a beautiful historic, vintage vibe.

We stayed at the Bora Hotel for 3 different stays during our time in Iquitos. This is our 2nd trip to Iquitos where we stayed at the Bora (so a total of 4 stays here with multiple rooms for our party). Breakfast is excellent with lots of options that vary each day. The beds are comfortable. Rooms are as advertised and pictured online. Most of the rooms we stayed in had incredible air conditioners, although we had one room that the AC was not great. (We do come from a cold climate, so we are used to cold. This particular AC may have been sufficient for others, just not us. The rest of the ACs were great.) Staff brought us a floor fan to help with the heat.
We stayed in two types of rooms: triple and a double with a queen bed. The double rooms are a bit cramped, but they work. I think next time I will reserve a double room with two beds for the extra space.
One of the double rooms had a phenomenal view of the water and jungle and it had a mini fridge. The rest did not. The showers worked well & had plentiful hot water. Housekeeping did a great job.
Location is fantastic, close to the malecon, a laundry service & the Plaza de Armas. There are little markets across the street for quick purchases like water or soda. Iquitos has worked hard to improve the street, and it has now become a beautiful pedestrian walking street.
Don't forget to check out the sunset or sunrise on the top deck. It is beautiful!

Iquitos is a fast bustling city with a lot to experience, but if you are a nature lover like me, who prefers a relaxing naturistic atmosphere, you’ll want to use Iquitos as your landing and launching point, so you can spend the bulk of your trip in the surrounding forest of the Amazon jungle. I don’t recommend tourists to stay more than a few days in the city, but you could easily spend months in the surrounding forested regions without boredom. There are so many adventures to be had out there.

Iquitos city is already fun, with a short plane trip, you get to know such a different culture from Lima, different music, expressions, food is amazing, colors, locals are very friendly. We took a tiny boat by the hotel de Turistas, next to the river and it took us around Belen, the floating city, then we walked to Belen market which was soooo interesting. Best to go early morning.
We traveled with our 10-year old child, so we took a local bus to QuistoCocha, were there is a wild animal zoo and a lagoon.
We loved the Casa de Fierro restaurant, delicious. Also went to Frio al Fuego floating restaurant, would only recommend it for late afternoon for drinks and snacks. We went for lunch and music was way too loud and sun was very harsh, but it had a magical view, so it would be nice for a lounge late afternoon.
We took a cruise for three nights into the jungle. Absolutely stunning. There are quite a few company options, different price range, but the Delfin cruise, was impressive.
Iquitos may be overlooked by many tourists since they travel to Cuzco, but it is definitely worth it.

If you're travelling to Iquitos, you're not there for Iquitos. You're there for the Amazon forest that lies beyond. If you have the money, stay at Treehouse Lodge. It's actually reasonable for what you get. All inclusive, your own private guide, excellent food, 2 to 3 private tours of your choosing, into the rainforest. And you stay high in the rainforest in a room built near the top of a living tree, hundreds of years old.

The King Suite was really big and the food was very tasty.
The King Suite was really big and the food was very tasty. We booked a massage which was wonderful and the pool is the best in Iquitos. It was just what we needed after a great adventure in the jungle.
Lovely comfortable guest house right by the airport. Wilson and his wife made you feel at home right away, providing flexible airport pick ups, helping to get a tuktuk into town. Breakfast was good and they made dietary amendments for me. I stayed again on my way out of Iquitos and they had noticed from my passport that it was my birthday and organised a special little celebration. Thanks so much!
Chip, (American Host) couldn't have been kinder. Greeted me when I arrived, showed me to my room and when I had settled, he took me on a quick tour of Iquitos so I could get my bearings. He told me all the best places to go/eat/shop/bank and info on getting taxis/guides. His Partner is Peruvian and lovely.
The room was perfect. Spotless, fresh towels, Good A/C.
Very friendly and accommodating staff . Great facilities, very clean and a great place to meet other people. Absolutely loved my stay here and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Iquitos. Especially thanks to Marcel at the reception for being absolutely amazing and accommodating in every way!
Really nice, modern hotel with big rooms. Air condition and Wifi worked perfectly, and special thanks to the receptionist who managed to get our clothes washed even we check in a bit late, and also ordering taxi really early in the morning.
