Well located having established the location with the owner prior to arrival by bus. We commenced walking the Camino Nascente from Crato. With a nearby supermarket & eateries and a well-equipped kitchen we had everything we needed & it suited our purpose for the 1 night. The unit is spacious with 3 bedrooms, old-style homely decor, clean and comfortable.

The staff of the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent. Tourist Info, bus station, grocery store and the awesome and inexpensive charcoal cooked roast chicken shop and the interesting museums just 10 minutes or less away. Rossio was an excellent base of operations to see Portalegre, Castelo da Vide and Estremoz. The breakfast was great- bacon and eggs, cheese and cold cuts and baked goods. And the balcony with a view to the old city was great too. Portalegre is a gem- not heavily touristed so guests are treated very well.
