Location is unbeatable in Evora! The property is stunning, with very attentive and friendly staff. As it is in a 15th century building, rooms and amenities are comfortable as expected. Dinner was excellent, shout out to Pedro who was fantastic in recommending food and wine. Additional benefit is the private parking onsite, rare in the middle of an old town like Evora.

Évora is a beacon of heritage in the heart of rural Portugal. Life is played out among narrow, cobbled streets and whitewashed buildings that provide welcome shade. Most buildings are decorated with blue or yellow trim, giving this laidback city a coherent feel.
Blue tiles adorn the incredible interior of the Misericórdia Church, and the Church of St John the Evangelist also features this typical Alentejo style. The most outlandish is the Church of St Francis where one chapel is created entirely from human bones and skulls.
The Gothic cathedral has a peaceful cloister and next door is Évora Museum with its collection of medieval, Islamic and Roman artefacts. In the large square in front sit remains of the Roman Temple, and Roman bath ruins lie under the town hall.
The Palace of the Dukes of Cadaval has a turret-like tower, similar to those in the city walls. One of Évora’s most impressive monuments – the 16th-century Silver Water Aqueduct – passes right through the walls and used to end in large Praça do Giraldo, the city centre’s main square. Some of its stone arches have been cleverly bricked in to create bars and restaurants.
Booking.com’s accommodation in Évora includes luxury hotels with pools, cheap hostels near the train station and guest houses by the university.

This was one of my favorite stops in our tour of Portugal. Loved the history, food, and people, but also really enjoyed the quaintness of this smaller city. Full of charm, and I really enjoyed our time here.

Évora is a beautiful ancient city seemingly mostly experienced by day trippers from Lisbon. Staying in the town allowed us to experience the sites before it got too crowded and the authentic off the beaten path town after they leave. Easy drive from Lisbon. Very walkable.

Évora is a quiet town of narrow, cobble-stone streets, a few historic sites and several good restaurants. I recommend it as a break from big cities. I tghnk you can see the important sites in a two nights visit, or two days (one night) if you get there early on the first and leave in the afternoon on the second.
Must see: Cathedral, Chapel of Bones, Roman Temple, Aqueduct, Praça do Giraldo.

I went to Evora for basically 2 things. 1 was the chapel of the bones which I did get to do. Fascinating place. The other thing that I really wanted to do was a hot air balloon ride nd unfortunately the Balloonist just couldn;t fit me into their schedule which was disappointing.

Ate at Cavalarica next to the Roman Temple. Amazing food and great little courtyard sitting under fruit trees.
A highlight was the Bone Chapel but also the tower and cloister of the Cathedral. Hidden gem: the Casas Pintadas, 16 century frescoes, and they were free!

Great little place in an ideal location to see Evora. Our room heater malfunctioned and we were freezing but the manager promptly took care of things. The room had plenty of amenities and the beds were good. We had some trouble accessing the lodging. We arrived on a Sunday and the gate was locked. We tried buzzing reception but evidently nobody was working the desk. I finally called the contact person from Booking.com and got some action.
The hotel is well situated, just outside the walls of Evora, with the city centre just a 15-minute walk away. The hotel is much frequented by coach-parties. Breakfasts, served in relays, are good but very noisy. Our room lacked a coffee machine and a kettle, a disappointment - although we thought it good value for money. We were grateful for the heated indoor pool.
Nice country hotel on a quiet location about 5 min driving to the Evora. Friendly english speaking staff. Clean and comfortable room with good beds and fridge, large terrace. Good breakfast. Easy parking, outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, garden. Comlimentary bottle of sparkling water. Good value.
Great hotel with excellent facilities closely located to the old city center of Evora. The rooftop pool is really nice and the staff are welcoming, professional, and knowledgeable.
