Evora is an ancient town and the historic capital of the Alentejo Region of Portugal. It is a beautiful city with ruins, churches, parks, historical sites of significance. It is a very inviting place where you always feel welcome! An afternoon in Giraldo Square is a nice place to spend some time relaxing and soaking in the ambiance of the city followed by a short walk up the hill to the Cathedral and to the Roman Temple! Don't forget to visit the Roman Temple at night when the columns are lit. I highly recommend you include Evora in your travels. The Portuguese people make Evora a must see place to visit!
Visit Evora if you enjoy Roman History and good Anlantejo wine from the region. You can travel to Lisbon and other close by cities from this location. Also If your driving its a good stop if your heading back down to the South of Spain and do not wish to do this vis the Algarve and save i hour of driving time.
Évora is Unesco patrimony and it's a deserved honour. The tiny streets, the monuments, the life in it, are unique. The outskirts also deserve some credit: the Cromlech of the Almendres is a megalithic complex located 4.5 road km WSW of the village of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe; the city of Montemor-o-Novo with its castle, churches and tiny streets; Arraiolos or Évoramonte...all worth a visit
Beautiful mid-size city, easy to walk around. The Cathedral was well worth the low cost of admission. I highly recommend the restaurant Tua Madre, just southeast of the Praça do Giraldo, and for pastries, the Pastelaria Conventual Pão de Rala. We only had one night and day in Evora, and I wish we had been able to stay another day.
Some great sights, especially the Roman temple, Chapel of Bones and Cathedral. Unfortunately, the Igreja Sao Joao Evangelista was temporarily closed. Very easy to get around the town, though definitely not in heels as most of the streets have cobblestones. We spent 2 days there but 1 day is enough to see all the sights. However, Évora is less than 30 minutes from the cromlech and menhir "dos Almendres", which are well worth a visit.
An amazing city full of history and tradition. A marvellous atmosphere and very well preserved. A very clean city, full of life and places to visit. I love wandering around and the surroundings are relaxing as well. Marvellous landscapes.
We enjoyed everything. Great service, amazing location, beautiful interiors, etc. All in all, a perfect hotel if you are interested in staying in a historical setting. The stairs, the bar, the breakfast location (in an old cloister) are not only very pretty but also well preserved. The location couldn't also be better, as the hotel is situated right in the center of Évora, in between the cathedral and the Roman temple. The staff was very attentive and polite, and always willing to help.
We had a nice stay at the ecorkhotel. The staff was friendly and the room/facilities were quite nice. The location is calm and during summer I'm sure it will be very relaxing. Unfortunately it was quite cold when we were there so we could only use the indoor pool. Which was perfectly fine since it was march and we weren't expecting much else. But since there is not so much to do in Evora abd the sourrounding area, next time we would book at a warmer time.
Friendly staff and they made the room ready earlier to allow us check in ahead of schedule, very good location right inside the edge of the old town close to the cathedral and Roman temple, the room was very spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable, we also liked the common kitchen and living area. Also free parking was available just outside the guesthouse which was a great surprise. We really enjoyed our short stay in the guesthouse and Evora.
Great little place in an ideal location to see Evora. Our room heater malfunctioned and we were freezing but the manager promptly took care of things. The room had plenty of amenities and the beds were good. We had some trouble accessing the lodging. We arrived on a Sunday and the gate was locked. We tried buzzing reception but evidently nobody was working the desk. I finally called the contact person from Booking.com and got some action.
The surroundings, quietness, the comfort of the rooms, the incredible spa facilities and the fact that the convento is big and it really feels like you are secluded in a oases of quietness and a incredible peaceful place, we really had a relaxing and nice week. The hotel is about 3 km of the city so you could drive around and discover the beautiful city of Evora! Thanks Cristina Oliveira and the team to take such good care of us this week!
Tucked away location on the outskirts of Evora. Very quiet (apart from the Saturday night/early Sunday morning party in one of the rooms but that's life!). Restaurant has great buffet for breakfast and evening meal and good value at 20€ pp for the evening meal. Safe parking and ideal for touring Evora. Hotel does feel a little tired - it's really a business/conference hotel but nonetheless would happily stay again

The hotel is located just inside the walls of Evora. It is a sprawling white structure with a wonderful pool and a beautiful garden. The facility could use a bit of a facelift but all and all it is very comfortable. We very much appreciated the separate bathroom and the quiet of the room. Having parking underneath the building was also a plus.
Nice hotel in Evora, reasonably priced and with a very nice breakfast included. Big room, efficient A/A system, helpful personnel and close to roman temple and city centre (although 10-15 minutes walking from railway station which it is at the other side of the city). I would repeat if travelling again there.
This is a friendly family owned quiet hotel located on the edge of Evora. The owner and staff were very helpful and the breakfast was amazing. The room was clean and comfortable with a good sized private car park outside. We will return in the future for a longer stay to better explore Evora. Thank you.
Nice hotel in good location for exploring Évora. Some nice features, like the excellent breakfast and rooftop pool and terrace. The only ensuite shower I can remember which doesn't leak water all over the bathroom floor 👍
Evora Farm Hotel is a wonderful place in the countryside. Everything is there so quiet and peaceful. We felt in love with the little farm and its cute animals and the view on the hills and their olive trees.
Absolutely everything! One of the nicest and most beautifully designed hotels we have ever stayed in. Tranquil and quiet with great staff in the historic centre of Évora.
