Housed in an 18th-century palace, this 4-star boutique hotel blends a historical setting with picturesque views of the Lousã Mountains. This was our first stay in a hotel with our 1 year old and another one on the way. All of the staff were very supportive and accommodating. In times of Covid, the procedure and cleanliness was very good! The activities to visit the surround cities was wonderful, we used the bikes with a bike trailer to see the castle and enjoyed swimming in the afternoons. there is also a playground that our son enjoyed. We are very satisifed withe the good selection for breakfast and enjoyed the octopus for dinner. Thank you very much for a great stay, we cant wait to come again with our family.
Located in Lousã, Residencial Martinho offers a shared lounge. The hotel also provides free WiFi and free private parking. Great location, helpful staff, breakfast was continental with good selection. Room and building were very clean for this very basic and good value accommodation. We were able to arrange a guide - Gabriel Gomes from Paradigmo Tours for our hike and he was a fabulous guide!
Hotel Bem Estar is offering accommodations in Lousã. With free WiFi, this 2-star hotel offers a shared lounge and a tour desk. The hotel has family rooms. The personnel was nice, supportive and spoke English. The room was cleaned every day and there was adjustable heating in the room the first day but it was turned off on the second day probably because the hotel was closing due to the COVID-19 in Portugal. The breakfast was good. If you are not vegan, you will be fully satisfied, otherwise there is something you can put together for yourself. In addition, they agreed to refund us the fee for the last night we could not stay because our flight needed to be rescheduled.
Hidden in Serra da Lousã mountain, Cerdeira - Home for Creativity offers traditional shale-built units surrounded by a rolling landscape and features an arts and crafts school. Lousã is 6.2 mi away. Very nice located in an old village, very friendly staff, excellent breakfast
Featuring garden views, Magnolias Cottage in Lousã features accommodations, a bar, a shared lounge, a garden and a terrace. Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the property. If you have a car, the location is great if you want to do a walk in the shale/schist villages, a kayak trip or go to Coimbra. Maria, the host, welcomed us in her home like you welcome valuable members of your family. She speaks French like I wish I would speak Portuguese one day. Little touches were appreciated, like the question she asked us at night: "What do you like for breakfast?". The breakfast was full of fresh produce that Maria made herself, like home-made jams. Another great little touch was the products on offer in the shower: no bad shampoos like you find in normal hostels/hotels, but a real collection of several shower gels (we loved the chocolate shower gel) and shampoos, and even hair conditioner + a hairdryer. There is also a little plug-in anti-mosquito device in the bedroom, which can always come in handy in the summer. And the internet connection was perfect. These are the little details that make an accommodation exceptional. I will definitely organise another trip in the area, just to stay at Maria's again!
Featuring a bar selling drinks and snacks, Pousada de Juventude da Lousa is located in Lousã, a 13-minute walk from the Lousã-A Train Station. This youth hostel is 19 mi from Coimbra. Clean, large room with my own bathroom. Very quiet. Friendly people at the desk. A very good breakfast in the morning. Large kitchen to cook your own meal.
Casa Princesa Peralta is an ecological country house, located in 7.5 mi from Lousã. The traditional home is sited in the scenic Lousã Schist Route. Oh what an experience . apparently most of Talasnal isnt full at this time of year (hotels and restaurants) are not open. So it seemed that the only running place was this place. Moreover, lovely Marisa is living in Lousa and wasn't there at night. So me and my fellow were the only people IN THE ENTIRE VILLAGE! Since no restaurants were open, MArisa managed for us to have basic staff for dinner and breakfast. The place is כfully equipt rooms are beautifully designed and painted. loved the place!
Surrounded by cultivated land, trees and the Ceira River, Quintal De Alem Do Ribeiro is located in Ceira dos Vales, Lousã. This was a perfect stay. Great hosts, superb breakfast, super comfy bed and a large room full of character. Hightly recommended.
We stayed in the schist village of Talasnal in Serra da Lousá so this review doesn't really apply to the town of Lousá which we didn't visit. But if you enjoy walks and nature the schist villages are a perfect retreat. Self catering cottages along with a couple of cost restaurants and bars. There are walking trails between the villages, breathtaking views and a taste of the world gone by! We walked down from Talasnal to Lousá . We stopped by the castle and had an amazing lunch at Burgo restaurant by the Praia fluvial. The walk continued then along the river into the town.
Lousa is small. But there are great things to see there and it's beautiful. We stayed 2 nights but wished to have a stayed one more night to explore more of Serra de Lousã. Highly Recommended if you enjoy getting away from city. About a 30 Euro Taxi from Coimbra B station.
I'll be straight. I came to Lousa for a mountain bike race. I loved it. Even if it was wet and cold most of the time I was there I know that's not typical. I wish I had stayed longer and got to do some riding myself. The hills look really worth while exploring and I wish I had got to see more of the sights. I am definitely looking forward to coming back and exploring more.
This was just the legal side of house purchase so brief this time...but I'm making it home so it must have something to offer. It's a pleasant town with old and new, efficient and chaotic...and best of all people who are just happy to help!!!
Weather was poor thus restricting our plans. Quiet town (in January) with good tourism office and friendly staff. Easy access to the castle and nearby Schist villages with stunning views. Restaurants reasonably priced and food tasty
Simply awesome. We found a cozy house, complete and well decorated. We really liked the space rehabilitation! The air conditioning throughout the house is very efficient and silent, we didn't feel the negative temperatures that were in the city! Pedro and Marina are very friendly and helped a lot with several recommendations. The house is right in the center next to a large garden and swimming pool, very quiet area. It's easy on foot, reaching all restaurants and supermarkets! We will return here to explore Lousã.

Great and comfortable house with outdoor space and a pool for private use. It is in small and quiet village called Foz de Arouce, near Lousã. In the mountains around there are many traditional rehabilitated villages with walking routes linking some of them where you can see spetacular landscapes and taste traditional flavors.
Everything. It’s beautiful!!!! The family who own it are fantastic, really welcoming . Our rooms were great and the pool is wonderful. Staff were really friendly. Can’t recommend highly enough. If you are in Lousa then please stay here and support this fantastic family and their hotel.
The village is absolutely adorable and really relaxing. We stopped off here while hiking through the Schist Villages of Lousa so really appreciated all of the food options they provide - the duck rice was delicious! We had everything we needed and enjoyed the calm
The location is beautiful, right in the middle of one of the schist villages around Lousã. The appartment is remodelled beautifully, handmade and with local material. The owners are great and friendly people, involved in the development of the little village.
The hotel was absolutely lovely, and it is perfectly situated for exploring the nearby Schist villages. All the staff we met were very helpful, and the morning using the electric bikes available at the hotel was very good fun. Thoroughly recommend.
The hotel was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast great with a wide variety to choose. The staff was also very nice and helpful. The price was very good taking into account the quality of the hotel, I had a good stay.
Maria João was a wonderful host. She was so sweet provided everything we needed. You can tell alot of love and care was put into her house. She even gave us a parting gift. A book about the history of Lousã.
Great breakfast and great location to stay around Lousa. Reception staff were also really friendly and spoke great English!
Nice old house and garden with all facilities Located outside Lousa Very friendly owner mrs Maria

This was a perfect stay. Great hosts, superb breakfast, super comfy bed and a large room full of character. Hightly recommended.
Nice, comfortable, great value for money. Nice view (few rooms have mountain view).
The host was delightful and served us a delicious dinner!
Pessoal and sights are amazing! Great food!
