Hotel in Tomar
Featuring a bar, shared lounge and views of city, Casa dos Ofícios Hotel is located in Tomar, a 17-minute walk from Capela de Nossa Senhora da Conceicao. AMAZING. If you are thinking of visiting Tomar, you can not go wrong staying at Oficios Hotel. The property was updated a few years ago to make it modern, while keeping some of its historic charm. You can take the elevator to your room or use the same stairs which have been in place for 400+ years. The staff when out of its way to ensure you have a great time from the check-in receptionist running 3 blocks to the parking garage to give the gate access which allowed me to save on the 2 days of parking charges. Then when we wanted to get an early start in the morning to explore the area they aske us to wait a few moments as they prepared a hot to go bag. They provided a bucket of ice for the room upon request. When looking on a map, at least for me, the hotel seemed to be in a bad location, but not the case. It was only a 3 minute walk in multiple directions to a variety of dining choices. A plus or minus, depending is how you see it, is that the surrounding Tomar area is very quiet on Sundays. Not many stores or shops are open. It allows for a less crowded option to take in the history. The Casrelo de Tomar or Templar Castle / Convento de Cristo (Convent of Christ) are about a 10 to 15 minute walk up stairs and paved streets. We arrived about 45 minutes before it opened to walk around the exterior and photograph it without anyone in our photos. We regret that we did not return in the evening or predawn to photograph the sunrise or sunset. Also, if you are into history the Castelo de Almourol is about a 20 minute drive away. For just 3 Euros you can walk around unescorted an almost 1,000 year old castle which is well preserved.

Featuring a bar, shared lounge and views of city, Hotel República is located in Tomar, an 11-minute walk from Capela de Nossa Senhora da Conceicao. The location was great, right on the main square with lots of walking streets, cafes, restaurants and parks nearby. A parking garage was less than a block away. Our first impression was a very professional, friendly welcome from the staff. The staff was very attentive and accommodating throughout our stay. The entire hotel is beautifully decorated in a chic contemporary way. Our room was large with 2 comfortable chairs, desk, armoire, luggage rack, and a very comfortable king bed with high quality bedding. The bathroom was large and well-lit with a large walk-in shower and excellent towels. Everything was very clean. The air conditioning worked perfectly and the room was quiet and dark with black-out drapery. We slept very well. The breakfast was bountiful and delicious and served on lovely china. The pastel da nata was the best we have had in Portugal. We will definitely return and highly recommend the Hotel Republica!

There is a lot to see in Tomar. The historical sites are excellent. The Tuk lovers tour is the best as it shows you everything. You can get it at the main square. There are plenty of places to eat but the most popular ones are constantly full so you need to book ahead.
We were a party of three adults. Loved the town of Tomar. This was a second visit for us and this time we spent longer there exploring the sites. I recommend taking a guided tour. We chose the 2 day Knights Templar tour & enjoyed every minute. I recommend a visit to Tomar you won´t be sorry.
We were 3 adults. We had briefly visited Tomar three years ago but this time we spent four days and booked a two day Knights Templar tour .This is a great plan if you want to see everything of interest in Tomar & the surrounding area & we are so glad we did this. The town has some super shops & restaurants & is so charming. I would highly reccomend going there.
The convento and castle are so interesting, not expensive. Tomar is relatively undiscovered so never too busy. A must for culture buffs! So interesting and beautiful. The town below is buzzing in the evenings with lovely bars and restaurants serving all kinds of cuisine. Pleasant to stroll around, taking in the hugh church, the plain Jewish synagogue and full of ambience. Lots of small artisan shops to peruse, riverside strolls in absolute safety. A wonderful place to visit, especially every 4th year when the festival of tabulieros takes place, it's amazing!
We loved Tomar and enjoyed all the tourist attractions. Only down side was a "Greek" restaurant, which was actually French. Upon second request we were given the Greek menu and on third request were given the starters menu. The food was very good however we were charged for the " Chef's tasting platter we did not order and charged 23 euros for a 5 euro bottle of really ordinary local house wine. Our problem for being trusting, I know. This would NEVER happen at a Portuguese restaurant

The hotel is in a perfect location in the centre of Tomar. The hotel was spotlessly clean. The room was excellent and the beds and pillows very comfortable, The breakfast was excellent. The staff were all amazing and helpful. We also love the rooftop lounge area with a fully stocked 'Honesty Bar' We have already booked a second stay when we return to Tomar later on in the year. We have travelled extensively over our lifetime, and can honestly say that this was in the top 10 hotels we have stayed at. We can not fault it
Very relaxing experience. The kitchenette and bar top were fab. You can sit at the table and watch the tv with comfort. Coffee caps delish- better than the big named ones- Made in Portugal of course! Tomar is a very pretty town. I have lived here since 2015 and it is still stunning. The coffee, cakes, savouries, wine all top quality. Best kept secret- the beautiful gardens and forest!
This hotel was top of the line. The location, the service, and the actual room itself was first class all the way. The room was super clean and beautifully decorated. We had a balcony with a view of the castle and it was stunning! Highly recommend this hotel, the pricing is very reasonable. Thank you to the wonderful and friendly staff for taking good care of us!
Tomar
We got what we sought- the real deal. We made it out to this country spot. Everything, including food was left behind. No problem, we set up the night. The neighbor, Antonio’s wife, would make us Bacalhau (the ubiquitous cod dish). We walked around the corner and dined in the ante room turned into our own dining event. We loved seeing this Portugal!
Tomar
The house has a lot of history and was the residency for the nobility of Portugal. I stayed in the apartment which was a very generous size. The property in in the centre of town and near to restraunts and cafe Also nearby to the square and castle. Wish I had time to explore fully but will revisit.
The hotel room is large, newly renovated and has all the amenities you need! It’s right in the center of the town! Just park nearby (there are paid and free ones - free is 3 blocks away) and enjoy the town! The brekkie was just superb and classic European Continental style!
Tomar
Staff was super nice. Dorm, bathroom and kitchen were clean and spacious. Best lockers I've ever seen, where I could even store my small trolley AND daypack. Breakfast was also great. Best hostel I ever had so far in Portugal. Many thanks to the great team!
This is a nice, charming hotel in the middle of Tomar. It is old, but well-maintained and very likeable. The staff are friendly and helpful. The attraction is that it is charming and 'quaint,' rather than new and shiny.
The hotel is small with very nice luxury torches. Staff is very nice and give you necessary information. Location is perfect with waking distance to every major attraction. Would recommend for my friends to stay 100%...
Tomar
The property was perfectly located and very comfortable. It had all the essentials I needed. I’m so happy I didn’t book a hotel and decided to stay here instead. I would recommend it to any of my friends.
The hostel owner was very friendly and helpful. He told us a lot about the surroundings and Portugal in general. The kitchen was quite big and well equipped. The common area was also pretty nice.
Great hotel, luxurious and well maintained. Professional, courteous and efficient staff. Very good and varied breakfast. Luxurious, spacious rooms, comfortable beds.
