This hotel features accommodations in Valença do Minho. Hotel Padre Cruz is 0.6 mi from the local train station and is 19 mi from Vigo, in Spain. Hotel Val Flores is located in the center of the historical castle town of Valença, overlooking the Valença Fortress. It offers a 24-hour front desk and free Wi-Fi. Oh, the place and staff were super nice. Room with big bath, everything is very comfortable. Breakfast wasn't really various, but still I liked it. I decided to start my camino de Santiago from there and they helped me to arrange my suitcase delivery to the next point, since I was traveling before and didn't know what I should do with it. Also they told me lots of things about the city and how it's better to start my way.
Scenic views over the River Minho and Spain can be admired from this fortified area of Valença. Surrounded by historic village walls, this peaceful hotel has a panoramic restaurant and a bar. This hotel was amazing! Everything was fantastic...including the dinner/service. Our group enjoyed absolutely every moment here.

Is a nice place to relax and walk around , good food, and if you want to buy good stuff like towels and sheets you should go to the " mercadillo " good stuff and best prices ! Plus beautiful views of the fort ,walk around enjoying a delicious ice cone - the best !!!!
Avoid week end tourist crowd in the fort, bus loads of shoppers. I would recommend more information on history. The cathedral was open, but with no service on sunday? That was weird. local people were friendly and helpful to English speakers on Camino.
The old fortress offers a chance to spend a day wandering, shopping, and learning history. Pilgrims on the Camino to Santiago stay at the nearby albuerge and local hostels, so the area is pleasantly lively.
valenca is a pretty interesting town , great views and restaurants up in the fortalezza . lots of tourist and linen shops. the town has lots of basic shops and supermarkets including a lidls. massive market on slected days .

Great value for money. No frills, fully equipped and clean. One has to take price into consideration when reviewing. This is not a luxury/romantic place. It is a functional, clean and very decently equipped small apartment in the very center of Valenca. Walking distance to everywhere in town and lots of free parking at the bottom of the building. Proximity to train station does NOT disturb nor a source for noise. Superb water pressure - practically unbelievable.

Excellent Hotel. I lost my bag and the staff went through a great deal of trouble getting it back for me. A shout out to Pedro. He went way above and beyond to retrieve it for me. I know that he is happy at the hotel but I would hire him if he were ever available. If you are reading this review and plan to stay st the hotel Val Flores ask for Pedro.

Clean and comfortable hotel with friendly staff. I did not evaluate location because we were very tired at arrival and started our Camino early in morning so I just had no time to check location and walk around. But for piligrims I should say - this place is very close to the border.

Very friendly family who owns the hotel. Beautiful property with a lot of charm and personal touches. Very large, comfortable room, several sitting areas on different floors. Only wish there was an honor bar, in library perhaps, would have been lovely to have a nightcap there

Pousadas are historical buildings that have been repurposed as hotels. This one is inside an ancient fortress overlooking Spain across the Minho river. Wonderful rooms, great views, super helpful staff and a great breakfast.
