The property owners were extremely nice and welcoming. They offered us homemade wine and fresh figs. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very cozy. It had everything that you would otherwise need in a home. The surrounding nature was amazing. The house is surrounded by vineyards and is very peaceful. If you want a quiet retreat - this is a place for you. We enjoyed it a lot and will come again.

Kostanjevica na Krki and B and B Castanea are gems of Slovenia. The island village is idyllic, Castanea is spotlessly beautiful situated in a very old building; and the nearby museum specializing in Slovenian artists is a treasure that must be visited. Castanea’s hosts are kind, generous, knowledgeable, and helpful. These are all reasons I’ve visited 3 times while bike touring.
