Lots of green areas, cafes, parks, and affordable prices. Easy to walk around if you like walking. Much better than what I expected given what others had told me. Ankara is quite an organized city, hilly with views, and lots of beautiful trees, flowers, green areas and spaces to walk in. Note that most people do NOT speak English. I did not see much, as I was there on business, but would go again for tourism.
I did not know what to expect because it was my first trip to Turkey. Furthermore I hadn't researched the country unlike the other countries I visited in the last 15 years. Perhaps I paid too much attention to certain media publications about Turkey over the years. I am glad that Turkey superseded any expectations I had hitherto ... it is definitely one of the most beautiful places in Europe. Ankara is a lot calmer than Istanbul...the taxis are a lot less aggressive that's for sure...if you are into furniture design...this is also where you want to be...excellent rages abound...and some furniture houses do offer 3d rendering for your floor plan...should you wish to pick up a 9x12 rug...research your material...Bamboo silk isn't as durable as pure silk...please take note, it stains pretty bad and cleaning it can be a pain in the wots its!!! old Ankara has what I would describe as flea markets...you can find loads of dated décor pieces from art, to recycled wood, steam train parts, to minarets the list goes on...be prepared to haggle your way to a decent price...I got a quirky table lamp made of a small wood barrel...If you have a family with school age kids try the Aqua Vega....Akşemsettin Mahallesi, Doğukent Bulvarı Nata Vega Outlet, 06480 Mamak/Ankara, Turkey...Children never get tired of aquariums...and finally, less I forget...come to Turkey with a big appetite for tea...lots of tea....the English have not even scratched the surface! Lol
The best trip ever! the hotel is incredible and lovely. one of the best hotel which I will definitely go again... the hotel is in a very good location with access to restaurants, malls, supermarkets, park and ... I had an enjoyable time and experience there...
Very beautiful city, although it is too hot there but I enjoyed my stay much Very easy public transports and amenable prices The main problem was the language although all the people are very kind and trying to help but most of them don’t speak english
Ankara is a neat, well-organized city. Starting with your arrival at the ESB (Esenboğa) airport (if you haven't arranged a shuttle) you can always count on the BelkoAir Shuttles. Costing only 11-TRY (Turkish Lira) this is the most economical and convenient way to get to the city center. It is a 45 minute trip to many districts of the city. In my personal experience, only 1 out of 8 people of Ankara knew how to speak basic English, so you will need some Turkish language to communicate with people.
Ankara is a fantastic and interesting city and the Angora House Hotel in the heart of the fascinating Ankara Citadel area is an absolute gem. The proprietor and his staff were very friendly and welcoming and our room and bathroom were very comfortable and spacious. There are lots of places to eat locally and the hotel is located in easy proximity to two museums, interesting shops and historic relics. The proprietor was super helpful when we needed to book a bus to take us on the next stage of our journey and frequently checked with us to see if we needed anything. A previous reviewer has stated that it is not possible to take a cab right to the hotel entrance. This is not correct. We were dropped off and picked up from the front of the hotel when arriving and leaving. We would be very happy to stay at the Angora House Hotel again and recommend it to anyone looking for accommodation in Ankara.

Nothing. At the time of check out the person.at the counter refused to accept the 622TL inclusive of breakfast. Even after I showed him the booking.com email. He misbehaved and forced us to.pay extra charges for the breakfast. Very unprofessional staff. Nothing boutique about the Hotel. Very ordinary and overpriced.
