Downtown Sirkeci Hotel is less than a year old so everything is fairly new during our stay. Our rooms that are connecting are quite spacious, the staff hospitality are excellent and responsive to all our needs (special thanks to Mr.Kenan for all the assistance that goes above and beyond) , breakfast buffet is sumptuous, wifi is strong and best of all - hotel location is in the heart of the city. I highly recommend this hotel.

We had an exceptional experience staying at this hotel! The location is unbeatable, very close to everything we needed, which made exploring the area so convenient. Our suite was spacious, clean, and well-maintained with daily cleaning that kept everything spotless. But what really stood out was the staff—they were all amazing! Polite, friendly, and incredibly helpful, they truly made our stay unforgettable. The staff is by far the hotel’s greatest asset, and their hospitality added a special touch to our trip. Highly recommend this place for both the location and the outstanding service!

The hotel is recently renovated, room’s interior in light airy tones and spacious bathroom were so pleasant to be in. Location is great: 3 minutes walk to tram station and main sightseeings, 15 minutes walk to beautiful Gulhane park where opens an amazing view of Bosphorus seafront. Breakfast with varieties: all was fresh and tasty, with lots of vegetables and fruits. Stuff: when checking in manager upgraded our two separate standard rooms to family deluxe room with one entrance and two bedrooms inside which was very convenient for kids. That was so kind. The reception employees were friendly and helped with our luggage and also we were free to leave our bags at the hotel after check out when we had spare time to walk around before the flight.

FAQs about hotels in Istanbul

The Best of Asia and Europe

The city of Istanbul offers a trip unlike any other, encompassing Asian and European cultures to create a heady mix of art, music and food. The amazing Old Town and the Sultanahmet are home to iconic Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. More history is hidden in the Topkapi Palace, where you can glimpse the splendor and opulence of Turkey’s Ottoman heritage.

Take a stroll through the historic center or the busy Taksim Square before watching the sun set behind countless mosques and minarets. Local fish markets and numerous restaurants lining the bridge to Galata offer the Golden Horn’s daily catch.

If you prefer the fine art of bargaining to fine art, lose yourself in the Grand Bazar and maybe you’ll emerge with a hookah, some Turkish coffee, or even a carpet. The Spice Bazar further immerses you in the sights, smells, and tastes of Turkish culture.

Getting to Istanbul is an easy trip from Ataturk International Airport or Sabiha Gokcen Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel on the Asian side or a budget hostel in Taksim Square, Booking.com has over 1,000 great accommodations for a vacation in Istanbul.

All the markets/ traders are there to bargain but honestly rip you off. I'm all for supporting local traders and some are genuine (very few). Some refused to entertain, found some actually to be racist and rude. Everything extortionately priced, nothing fixed priced which makes it more transparent and easier. Topkapi palace is extortionate at £45 per person over age of 7, it wasn't justified. Lovely place but as family it's not worth it. It's not safe, lots of pick pockets. Money got stolen, police born tourist and normal refuse to acknowledge it. Just for show. I won't be returning. Many nicer and safer cities with better value for mo money.

We had some minor tips from people who had been before, the best two being the side of the river to stay (the Galata tower side - Beyoglu) and the actual hotel - The Story Hotel Pera. It's busy, but the people are friendly and the city has some incredible historical significance which is being well preserved. We are told by others that the inflation has hurt a little bit as you would once have called an Sitanbul or Turkey in general holiday 'low cost'. I don't believe it is expensive, but definitely no longer low cost. We will definitely return, we stayed three nights but four full days and I think we cut ourselves probably two nights short of being the correct length of time there.

    Istanbul is rich in culture.

Istanbul is rich in culture. It has an impressive public transport network that makes all attractions and airports accessible at an affordable price. We did not use a taxi except the trip to the airport. Arrival at SAW, got an Istanbulcard. The loaded it with 300lira each time, which is the max. We travelled everywhere with in Istanbul europe and asia. We travel by ferry to Uskudar from kabatas. We even used the istanbulcard to use a public toilet. Really excellent tranport ro tourist who are budget conscious. Istanbul is a metropolitan and bursting with tourists. It is bustling with life 24hours. This cultural city doesn't sleep. I bought an Istanbul Tourist pass for 2 days. It is a matter of planning, mapping out and prioritizing. We arrived in SAW airport and took the M4 to connect to B1, got off in Sirkesi. We stayed in Meserret Palace Hotel, Sirkesi. We started with Topkapi, then Hagia Sophia, then Cistern Basilica. Nest day was Dolmabahce and Camlica radio tower on the side of Istanbul asia. Then next day the blue mosque and sapphire tower observation deck. Next day was blue mosque, taksim and Galata tower. We did a dinner cruise and afternoon bosphorus cruise. We have been to Grand bazaar and Spice bazaar. If not for our ailing knees, we could have covered more attractions. There is so much to see and admire.

    Istanbul has become very expensive.

Istanbul has become very expensive. It is about as expensive to eat out as in the UK. Watch out for taxi drivers. I was going to a dental appointment 2.5 miles away. I asked a taxi driver how much. €30. I told him to get lost. The next taxi said he will charge as per the meter it was only 200 Lira

We were passing through Istanbul, so we needed a hotel that was close to Taksim Square, Istiklal Street and also the Havaist point to the airport. Everything came together perfectly here. The location is very convenient. The staff is polite and responsive, always in touch, also very understanding, they approached the fact that we arrived early. Despite the fact that check-in was later, they checked us in earlier, which was very convenient. Inside the small room there is enough space, air conditioning, kitchen and cooking utensils.

In the center of Taksim square.Close to Taksim square and Istikal street. Super clean hotel with very polite staff. Especially Fatih in reception is very helpful,he will do everything to meet guests'needs. Close to Hava bus terminal if traveling to Istanbul or Sabiha airport. Eating in their Medway restaurant is a nice experience with a clear view of the street and its actions, glass partitioned and air-conditioned. The house keeping team keeps the hotel super clean. Overall an excellent stay and highly recommended.
