Brunswick (Near Bath)
Located just off Route 1 and 5 miles from downtown Brunswick, this hotel features free Wi-Fi and a daily continental breakfast. Thomas Point Beach is 5 minutes away. Location was good for restaurants and things to do. Management was nice and helpful.
Great town homes are huge and beautiful. Lots of architectural designs to see. Prime reason was husband was in navy here so we visited the naval museum in Brunswick which is close to Bath. Many shops and restaurants and very walkable.
Bath is an old shipbuilding town with plenty of history. The downtown area was charming with some nice shops and a few restaurants. Covid-19 was not kind to Bath as some businesses did not survive the reduction in visitors. The shipbuilding museum was fantastic and there are plenty of places to get some antiques and even some used books. The city lacks the luster of some of the other cities in Maine that are bigger tourist draws. With time and the injection of an improved business climate post-Covid it would be even better.
We went to Bath to see the Maine Maritime Museum. It was excellent! We also enjoyed dining downtown at Maxwell’s and staying at Pryor’s B&B. We easily could have stayed longer had our itinerary permitted it.
Ate out often and the food was always good. Had some excellent seafood at JR Maxwells, and some great burgers at Applebee's. There was some road construction on one of the highways, but getting around was easy. Roads are well marked with signage to help you, plus we did have GPS in the rental. Went to the Maritime Museum in Bath and took the boat ride up the river. You will probably need 2 days to go through the museum, but it is worth it. Don't miss the boat ride, either.
Lovely small town, good food, friendly people. Maxwell's, Cabin and Mae's good choices for food. Be sure to visit Lisa Marie's, made in Maine on Front st. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff and lovely gifts!
You have to go to Beale Street BBQ. Small place, seating is tight but food is fantastic. Taste of Maine is another short drive across the bridge but youll drop a few bucks eating there too, both well worth the costs. Downtown has nice little shops and the riverside park is great for a evening smoke.

OMG! I don't know where to start. This is a beautiful B&B with a lovely owner. She made our very short stay so special, we cannot wait to come back again. She welcomed us with homemade chocolate cookies. Our room was gorgeous, with the most amazing bed in the world. The bathroom is brand new and the shower is perfect. Breakfast is absolutely delicious and homemade. We felt in pure luxury the whole weekend!

Much better than many hotel breakfasts. Location between park and river is excellent. All of downtown bath is within easy walking distant.
