We were close to a large variety of restaurants that we could walk to and we chose a Mexican restaurant that was just a couple of blocks from the hotel. OK, now that I've been there...Cape Coral seems to be just a suburb of Ft. Myers, with most of the stuff you want to do in Ft. Myers. Or in other words, Cape Coral is a nice place to sleep after spending the day doing touristy things in Ft. Myers. Come to find out this area used to be called just "the other side" as it was leftover land from the build-up of Ft. Myers. When you look at it that way, Cape Coral makes sense. I would not go to Cape Coral for vacation. I went there to visit family that had re-located there. I think it might be a nice place to live. getting around Cape Coral is easy & lots of restaurants. The weather has been amazing! we enjoyed Matlacha to kayak & fish. Plenty of golf courses. Make sure to stop at Visitors Center for maps & other materials of local favorites. We bought a Leeway pass to make our trips over the bridges easier.Guest review byTerriUnited States

It's in a very quiet neighborhood, yet very easy to pop over to Fort Myers and drop south into busier Cape Coral areas. Close to shops, and lots of lovely conservation areas for walks, love the burrowing owl conservation spots. The very few boaters or kayakers that went by on the canal were very friendly :-) .
