The staff at Capitol hotel were amazing, contacted us before our arrival and helped us arrange dinner reservations. The rooms were small but clean and had everything we needed. Very comfortable. The location was perfect right downtown for Capitola. Will definitely be returning.

I personally like the town of Capitola, it feels so relaxing. The location of the hotel is great, it is close to a supermarket and CVS and even a small park! It was great! The front desk lady was so nice, she basically introduced all things we need to know about our staying and even offered new pool towers for us if we would like to play in pool. Great experience!

Capitola offers many good restaurants, and plenty of beaches to visit. We went to the Moss Landing slew one day to watch the numerous birds. We ate at Cafe Cruz, and several other restaurants. We are not exactly a young couple, so we mostly like eating good food, and gazing at the Pacific. The weather was bright and sunny.

Of course, we may have missed what's on offer...

Of course, we may have missed what's on offer... Our hotel was on a busy road near shopping malls, boring chain food outlets and petrol stations, next to a noisy facility of some kind which beeps and crashes into action early in the morning. I hope there is more to Capitola, but our part was definitely NOT by the sea. If there is a better side, it's a pity the hotel didn't illustrate or explain this. If you're on business or visiting family - fine. On holiday looking for a stop by the ocean? Forget it.

Drab and musty. Needs better decor. Uncomfortable small bed and couches. Excellent location with view of ocean and ocean sights and sounds but overlooking a crappy roof first. No cookware, dishes or utensils in kitchen. Brown fake leather couches, cheap old pictures on the walls of Mediterranean?? Beige paint, dark brown carpet brown tables and more brown. Tiny shower. Spacious.

The beaches are nice and easy to access.

The beaches are nice and easy to access. The wharf is a nice place to shop and eat. If you visit in the fall be sure to bring layers of clothes because it CA be chilly in the morning and evening. Shadow brook restaurant is a great place to eat. The food is delicious and the staff members are great and attentive.

I couldn’t say I would change anything in this beautiful well maintained hotel. The staff was great. The breakfast was wonderful an all the amenities were as described. I’ve stayed here a few times and was only disappointed in the higher prices and the mixup in giving our keys to other guests by mistake, and on the 2nd day of our 3 day stay, our keys were all deactivated. Thanks for the “ I’m sorry” goody bags! I would appreciate a free nite on a future stay

Great location, elevator not working, room #1 with no view, very stuffy, no designated parking space, very noisy. We were Basically told you get what you paid for. Hard to find parking even though they give you a hang tag permit, there's time limits.

Lady on front desk was extremely friendly and welcoming upon check-in. Room was quiet, spacious and clean. Plenty of free parking. Good WiFi. Breakfast (albeit not everything you might want) is welcomed and is always a good start to your day! Walking distance into the lovely town of Capitola.
