Crested Butte is one of the few remaining historic ski towns in Colorado, as yet uncluttered by NYC shopping areas, etc. A genuine mountain experience without all the ski bunnies. If you want to experience an old fashioned mining town that hasn't become "modern", then Crested Butte is the place. Every view looks like a post card and the temperature in the summer is wonderful. Crested Butte doesn't have a single stop light, just two four way stops. Our family has been to Crested Butte both in the Winter and Summer and we like them both. In the summer there is actually more things you can do and explore. And everyone you run into is happy and smiling. Nice.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

We came just after the Wildflower Festival, and the views were outstanding. Not enough time in this visit to get acclimated to the elevation, but hiking and biking opportunities abound. This town, which we came to 10 years ago has changed .
This town, which we came to 10 years ago has changed . Hard to find a good restaurant or a good coffee shop. Locals are not friendly at all. I got the feeling that it is a very progressive town that looks a lot like a mix of Boulder and Nederland. the speed limit is mostly 10mph everywhere with 15mph thrown in here and there. This is a town where it is all about the folks who live there, not about the visitors spending money there. We are Colorado natives and won't be back.Guest review byGeliaUnited States - 10.0
I was in town for a conference.
I was in town for a conference. The free transportation around town and the mountain was fantastic! Staying in Crested Butte, I felt like I was in the land of Oz... I kept looking for the lollipop kids, then realized perhaps I was the lollipop kid! The food options in town were excellent. Incredible pizza at Secret Stash was like New York- perhaps better, if that's possible. and the Thai place, Thai Chili 78, was spot on.Guest review bytimothy
