Nothing to complain about at this place. The staff is super friendly and the building/rooms are nice and well kept. Even the price is on better than comparable places you might find in Anchorage or surrounding areas. I'd reccommend to anybody looking for a decent spot.

Sondra is an exceptional host! She has thought of everything to make her BnB feel like home. The best thing about our stay? The breakfast! As a vegan, I often expect to make/find my own food when traveling, but Sondra had me covered. She made me a wonderful oatmeal, fruit spread, and sweet potato hash that was the best meal I've had on my trip so far. She also made a great breakfast for my non-vegan family. Would definitely recommend SunStar to friends and family!

    Eagle River is a small city/town with some decent amenities...

    Eagle River is a small city/town with some decent amenities for shopping and restaurants. It has a Supercenter Walmart, some big chain fast food and sandwich shops. it has several Ma/Pa restaurants, including three or four Mexican restaurants. It is located about 15 minutes north of Anchorage. Lots of wooded areas and we saw several moose along some of the low populated roads. Very scenic location, but in my opinion, there are many housing developments that I would personlly consider middle to lower class. Several national parks close by. The roads there are in decent shape. Only saw one or two gas stations. If you decided not to leave Eagle River, you could get everything you need there to live well.
