For being a small town, there is a variety to do for all ages and the surrounding areas have good shopping as well. You will not go hungry in Elizabethtown either. There are many restaurants, pizza palors and a variety of other small dining options across a broad spectrum. Elizabethtown a College town, and offers a range of entertainment for all.
We have been to Elizabethtown many times. We usually stay at the koa in Elizabethtown to visit hershey park. It's a very nice, quiet town to stay in only about 20 minutes away. We've also visited the Renaissance fair and Indian echo caverns. Gettysburg is also about a 30 minute drive away with a historical town area in which you can visit different building s and there are also bus tours of the area. We are a couple in our 50s
West Ridge Bed and Breakfast was perfectly situated to have a country feel while being close to town. Lucky Duck Bar and Grille was fantastic (creamy crab bisque!) Kairos Massage and Skincare did a great job. Warm comfortable atmosphere.
This is an historical college town nestled in farm/Amish country. The downtown is so charming that one immediately gets that sense of quaint combined with chic making for an enjoyable visit. Outside of town are the contemporary stores on the routes that take you to more major highways. It's close enough to Lancaster and Harrisburg that the 30+ minute drive/s to said towns make you appreciate the town itself and where it's located.
Last minute booking for Hershey, maybe 20 minute ride from here. Friendly neighbors in town. One alerted us that we left our bag back at the Turkey Hill (which slid off the car) and we were able to go back for it. We left for Strasburg and Railroad museum before going all the way home. Mt.Joy Diner was delicious!
I must say its a nice town. I was approached by a stranger who said "I would like to THANK YOU for bringing diversity to her community. I love seeing people like you. You are beautiful." I am a Muslim woman and I cover my face with a veil and my body with a overgarment. To hear this made me feel so good to know that there are some kind and welcoming people left in the world. Thank you Elizabethtown. We ate a Panda Buffet and it was good!
