Jenner was lovely.
Jenner was lovely. We went in November so it had reduced hours of service and the inn we stayed with was the same. Closed in the evening for drinks. However, We enjoyed the most amazing breakfast in a small coffee/ wine bar on the front.. Cafa Aquatica had the best food & coffee we’d had anywhere! Their food was delicious!..Definitely a must for a stay there or a trip to if you’re close by. The wildlife in the area was beautiful even though it was cold.. wonderful birds and seals regularly spotted. Friendly staff and locals were happy to help and recommend areas to visit. We had a car which made it easy for us to get about. We were able to drive to Bodega Bay and that coastline along that route. Just stunning, reminded us of Scotland!..The Fishatarian restaurant in Bodega Bay is a must to visit..terrific food and staff. we also visited the giant redwood Forrest and did a short hike to visit the Colonial Armstrong tree! We would definitely return and explore the area further.

Small, pleasantly quirky, northern California coastal community. Friendly people. A bit isolated which for us added to the charm. Couldn't be much more different than it was from a Southern California beach community. This is a big plus. However, be sure you go there with someone you like. Because if it's not working out with your partner, you're a long way from a movie theatre or a walk in the park. The flip side is if your doing well together this is a great place to be alone together.

Romantic and enchanting!
Romantic and enchanting!
The Monte Rio room was perfect for our anniversary.
Enjoy dinner at the River's Edge (walking distance).
Lovely birdwatching from our private deck. We saw Canada Goose, Pelagic Cormorant, Double-crested Cormorant, Brown Pelicans, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret and a California Scrub Jay!

There isn't much to Jenner - a cafe for breakfast and lunch, a nice restaurant only for dinner(reservations necessary well in advance), a gift shop, a gas station, and a boat ramp and stony beach. However, it's got a great river for kayaking and paddle board ing, and bird watching. We didn't go to Goat Beach (too busy) but it looked great. Jenner is close to Bodega Bay (which feels cramped and too busy, but definitely eat at The Birds Cafe - fabulous food!!!) and to Fort Ross, so it's an ideal location.

The hotel is old, but fairly well kept & clean.
The hotel is old, but fairly well kept & clean. Too bad the restaurant was closed, we had to drive 5 miles to Duncans Mills for food. We took our folding chairs to the river's cliff to watch paddle boarders at sunset, relaxing. Next trip we will stay someplace with more to offer.

Loved all the different parks up and down the highway from Jenner Inn that lead right to the ocean. Huge waves, warm sand, we couldn't have picked a better weekend to stay at Jenner Inn as we were told the weather was warmer than usual. No wind! No rain! Perfect!
Everyone at Jenner Inn is very nice and attentive, and the town is very pleasant and laid back. We were on the river with a little porch overlooking the Russian River. It was lovely and close to nature.
