Located 15 minutes’ walk from Maui Arts and Cultural Center, Maui Seaside Hotel - Refreshed, Newly Renovated is 5 mi from Kihei Beach. An outdoor pool and restaurant are located on site. The staff was awesome during the emergency. They went from 3 reservations to 70 in 20 minutes. The whole staff was awesome and worked so hard.
Located on Maui, Courtyard by Marriott Maui Kahului Airport features an outdoor swimming pool and is less than 5 minutes’ drive to Kahului Airport. Everything. Best cost benefit for sure. Amazing staff and hotel. Its located in a very strategic spot, in my personal opinion. Close to the beginning of road to hana and just 20 min away from the beaches to south and west.

Located within 3.1 mi of Iao Valley State Park and 3.1 mi of Iao Needle State Monument, The Northshore Hostel Maui provides rooms in Wailuku. The host Darren was so friendly and patient. Helped us checkin after hours. He puts out pancake mix in the mornings. There wasn't hot water to shower with but its spacious and single. Guests are friendly and willing to chat
The Old Wailuku Inn at Ulupono is set in Wailuku, 2.5 mi from Iao Valley State Park. Free WiFi is offered throughout the property and free private parking is available on site. The hosts believe in old school getting to know everyone by talking to them, that surely happened over breakfast. Their hospitality makes you feel at home. It's a beautiful B&B to wake up at. The facilities are clean and comfortable and the location is convenient. We had a great time and would surely love to visit again.
Iao Valley Inn features river views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Wailuku, 2 mi from Iao Valley State Park. It was the best B&B I have ever been to :) Owners are really nice, rooms are really pretty and have everything one may need (microwave, air condition etc.). Whole possession is also very nice. There is also additional room with washing machine & dryer which is great :) There is also free parking available :)
Located on Maui's North Shore, this boutique property in Paia town offers access to 3 miles of white sand beach, relaxing amenities and convenient access to a wide range of activities. Lovely beach far from the big hotel resorts. Cute tiny village with a genuine hawaiien atmosphere.
Kahului is on the windy side of the island, but has very convenient access to services, basic shopping, and transportation to get to other areas of the island. There is a farmer's market in the shopping center :)
We chose a very busy time to travel to Maui but the price for this 3.5 star bordered on obscene. It's a fantastic original 60's building with abundant opportunity to make smart, groovy, stylish, yet affordable accomm for seasoned travellers. However, it looks like a daggy old motel that ran out of paint. Many guests were gutted by the overall quality for the price - you only had to take one look at the rug in the foyer. The location by the sea was great, the port and the road - not so great (particularly on Sundays and Mondays when the cruise boats were in), but the gardens were charming. The air-con units were loud and clunky so we turned ours off and enjoyed the sea breeze. Beds ok, linen cheap and nasty, shower fabulous. Luckily for the greedy, tasteless owners of this hotel, the delightfully friendly (predominantly Philippini) staff went out of their way to assist guests with genuine care and attention, without prejudice and should be appropriately showered with thanks and praise.
I liked the Tasty Crust and the Ale House. It took a bit to get used to the way streets were labeled. Google did a very poor job of referring to them by the same label as the street signs which made it confusing for the first day. Once I quit trying to use it things got better. There weren't any fun activities in town but it is reasonably central to other areas.
The Hana bus tour was a little long (10 hours), but still okay for a one time experience. I really enjoyed visiting Lahaina and taking the submarine tour to view the fish underwater. The restaurants next to and across from Maui Seaside Hotel were EXCELLENT, which kept me happy indeed!
We left at 3:00 in the morning to travel up Haleakala to see the morning sunrise. A park ranger performed the traditional Polynesian sunrise ceremony to welcome the sun, which made it especially momentous. I think everyone felt some of that spiritual connection - it was a beautiful experience! We also saw Makena Cove at sunset the night prior, and its beauty took our breath away!
Great shopping center with games and entertainment. We liked playing ball on the lawn. We enjoyed watching the fishermen. The water at the beach is dirty do not swim there! The pool is fine. The health store Down to Earth is expensive and has good selections.
