We came in for Keene State College open house, and also to visit our eldest child who attends Keene State. I can't say enough about Keene, campus on the Main Street, walking distance to exceptional town center full of restaurants, breweries, quaint shops, just beautiful. On the back end of the campus also hosts every chain you can imagine, from Walmart to McDonalds and every chain store in between for ease for students to walk to and fill up on necessities. The downtown is absolutely beautiful, even if you don't stay it's worth the day trip to explore.
Lovely college town although the rotaries (round abouts) are a bit much. Bretwood Golf course (36 holes) is the best. Lovely course...driving range....great pro shop ...food and seating on balcony over looking the course.
I've been to Keene a number of times, but this was the 1st overnight. It's a beautiful small city. Had a wonderful dinner at Nicola's Trattoria just half a block from my hotel. The Art Walk was in progress and it was fun to see all the art displayed in shop windows up and down Main St.
13 years ago I fell in love with Keene when I attended college there. I live the fall in Keene with the foliage. When I’m there I go back to all my favorite restaurants like Marco Polo, papagallos, and Nicolas. I usually make it back twice a year walk through the campus and walk around town.
We stayed 1 night on our way from Maine to NJ. Bartender was extremely helpful in helping us find a restaurant for dinner. We took his advise and walked a short distance to Lucas. Fabulous food and service. Our room in the hotel was very nice. Bed extremely comfortable. Parking on site. We would stay there again when in the area.
Hotel has great location. Lots of bars and restaurants close by. Main street is good for a walk. Room was clean and good size. AC is loud! Breakfast was the typical prepared fare. Staff are very nice and attentive. The hotel was great and we would stay there again. Keene was very nice.
According to American breakfast habits, hotel provided richer breakfast. Things were good, delicious and fresh.
Good location. The sheets were so soft! Very clean rooms and public areas.
Generally this was my go-to hotel when in Keene, ~ 5 times a year.
