Loved it! It's very "log cabin" with a restaurant on site which was really good!! I had hot tea and a salad. I loved all the trees around the property and how close it is to downtown Keystone. The perfect stay if you want a little "mountain" getaway. 🧘🏻♀️💖🌞

Very quiet! Maybe a quarter mile off the highway, but you would never know it. Plastic lawn chairs to sit outside the room and relax. Friendly and informative front desk.
Don't be fooled by it's appearance: it is affordable, wasn't sold out (when we reserved our room), and what we were all looking for: peace and quiet. A bed and a shower; didn't need, nor time for, television or wi-fi.

Keystone is most useful for its somewhat central location in the Black Hills within a ten minute drive of Mount Rushmore. The town itself feels like a tourist trap starter pack with all one would expect to find: a fudge shop, an old-timey photo shop, mostly mediocre yet overpriced local restaurants ($24 for a 16" pizza, for example). One bright spot on this front, however, was Halleys West. A nice little local joint serving delicious buffalo burgers and hand-cut fries at fair prices. Overall, I would recommend this place to stay solely for its location.

I loved how close the motel was to town and Mt. Rushmore.
I loved how close the motel was to town and Mt. Rushmore. Cute motel! But I don't understand why the room was always full of flies, dead and alive. Plus, the ice machine needs to be fixed. I would stay here again, but I'd make sure they got the fly problem under control first.

Our room had a fireplace, and everything was modern and nice. The only downside about the room was the space between the end of the beds and the chest of drawers/TV mount area was tight & you will need to manage traffic passage in the room. I liked that the front desk always had hot coffee & ice water available. Be aware "This is a Big Tourist Attraction Area" & thus tour busses will be dropping off guest in large groups. This was neve a problem for us, but I heard one guest complain about the noise disturbance at early hours as they were loading up... Finally, if you are going to eat, do it before 10pm because thats when everything closes (restaurants & stores).

My husband and I greatly enjoyed the town of Keystone.
My husband and I greatly enjoyed the town of Keystone. We were able to walk to most of the dining and shopping attractions. The surrounding attractions such as Mt. Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial were easy to access from Keystone. Keystone is an excellent location because there is so much to see and do within a short distance.

One of the BEST TRIPS EVER TAKEN! so much to see and do! So beautiful, majestic and you just know you're in God's country there! Great location to leave and go from, to go adventure out and see all that the Black Hills has to offer. Keystone itself is a quaint town full of cool things to do. From exploring the shops and attractions to just taking it all in.

Not much to actually do in Keystone but located close to Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Were there first part of Oct and most things were closed. We drove thru Custer State Park. $20. Didn't see much wildlife. Enjoyed driving the Needles highway on way into Keystone
Best location and hotel in Keystone I think, very helpful staff, nice quiet room perfectly large enough, and a fairly straightforward but good attached restaurant. Good breakfast options.. Parking was easy for me with a large vehicle. Showers are a bit low but I recommend pointing them horizontally if you are tall lol. I enjoyed my stay thankyou.
- Extremely friendly staff: e.g., already proactively messaged us in the early evening with outside office hour check-in information (already did preparations in case we would run late)
- Quiet, especially compared to other hotels/ motels we stayed at
- Complimentary breakfast
We were very welcomed and actually way before our checkin (1pm). The lobby is really original and contextual to Keystone. Finally hot tub and swimming pool area are very relaxing.
Coffee, tea available anytime in the lobby, a real plus.
Staff was VERY nice and helpful, great people.
Hotel very close to Mt Rushmore, takes you like 5 minutes. No smoking + free Parking. Breakfast was okay.
