While some people prefer the Canadian side of Niagara Falls,...
While some people prefer the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, I find the U.S. side more appealing. On the U.S. side, you're incredibly close to the raging waters, giving you a sense of intimacy and ownership over the falls, rather than merely observing from a distance. The only drawback is that you can't touch the flowing water directly from the U.S. side.

Niagara Falls is a spectacular sight.
Niagara Falls is a spectacular sight. Viewing from the NY side is somewhat limited because you are basically looking at the back/side of the American & Bridal Veil Falls, and can only see part of the Horseshoe Falls. However, the State Park is really nice, with lots of trails to walk and to view the river and the falls at various vantage points. The river itself is pretty cool to see, even before it gets to the falls. The actual town or city of Niagara Falls NY leaves a lot to be desired. It looks like it was gutted to make way for hotels and parking lots. There is a tiny little 'downtown' area with food trucks and a live band, but other than that it's depressing as hell.
Niagara Falls, Ont has the superior view by far, and has a lot more things to do. It's also way more commercialized. We went over early in the morning before it got too crowded, which is nice. Also, if you go in winter time, it'll be less crowded on both sides. :)

It is definitely one of the most iconic and memorable experience of your travel to United States. Whether it be a stroll along the banks of the Niagara river, a casual scenic view from the Observatory: an intense boat ride or the adrenaline pumping, wind and mist flapping corner near the gorges: the whole experience is amazing and gives you goosebumps everytime. Apart from this, there are great viewing options such as the Museums and aquarium.
Niagara fashion outlets are always offering merchandise at reduced rates and worth are worth visiting.
And to top it all off, there are Halal meal options all over the city.

Had never been to the American side of the falls and wasnt sure what to expect. The area around the falls seemed a little depressed. The area could definitely need some TLC. But we did have a good time and would most likely return. It was a lot closer than I realized. Getting around was very easy and walkable. We had breakfast in hotel both mornings and one dinner at Rainforest Cafe.

Niagra Falls is a great place to see.
Niagra Falls is a great place to see. It is wonderfully amazing, It was very busy when we were there (4th of July). I recommend seeing both sides of the falls as they are different. The Skylon Tower on the Canadian side is a must place to go. Unfortunately the biggest let down was the fireworks. Only lasted 5 minutes each night and 9 minutes on the 4th of July. Niagra Falls is a must see at least once! We walked everywhere which was a great convivence.

DO NOT go during the summer or close to a holiday.
DO NOT go during the summer or close to a holiday. We went for the Fourth of July, huge mistake! We never got to the falls. Parking lots were full and so was the parking garage. Some of the parking lots were closed off for food trucks and vendors and a stage in one for bands. We plan on going later but we will be going on the Canadian side.
Fabulous location on the edge of the State Park with the Falls rapids visible from the restaurant window. Nice & quiet rooms. Great staff. Prefer the US side of the Niagara Falls than the gawdy Canadian side. Easy to cross to Canada to get a different perspective of the views.
