Great old school Route 66 motel. Rooms are dated but clean and everything works. Great owner/ host Mike . I’ve been a repeat customer for at least 3 visits. Great onsite tavern. With reasonable prices.

Definitely has seen better days.

Definitely has seen better days. Many of the iconic motels are vacant/abandoned, along with some other commercial buildings throughout town. Part of the allure is both the nostalgia and decay, along with the history of Route 66. I don’t know which will outlast the other.

A view of a time past on route 66 but a town still functioning with a school system, police station and town structure. I enjoyed the Dinosaur museum. Kix restaurant was great with good food and route 66 memorabilia.

There's a lot of hype to stay at Tucumcari but it's only...

There's a lot of hype to stay at Tucumcari but it's only draw is it's convenient located on a long stretch between home and the Grand Canyon. It is not a destination, it's strictly a place to rest. The place seemed to draw a lot of people with dogs.

The room was great it was clean beds were made sheets were clean. Refrigerator microwave TV worked wonderfully. The only downside was there ice maker was on the first floor or room was on the second floor very inconvenient. I had my service animal with me and I did need a disabled room cuz I cannot do stairs well. Don't know if it was to the fact that they didn't have a smoking disabled room or what but I was put on the second floor. That made it difficult for me.

I usually stay in Tucumcari on my way from Az. to the mid...

I usually stay in Tucumcari on my way from Az. to the mid west to visit my children. This was my first time at the Roadway Inn. I will stay here from now on instead of the other Motels in town that are double the price, and the bonus, it is on Route 66 ++++

Tucumcari is a city rebounding from the loss of rail service...

Tucumcari is a city rebounding from the loss of rail service in the 1980’s or 90’s. The train depot has been converted to a museum. The charm of vintage vehicles and Historic U.S. Route 66 is evident everywhere. Recommended restaurants: Del’s and Kix 66.

Location- this is at the end of a town that appears pretty much closed down. Dinner had to be a delivery pizza - but that’s the town, not the hotel. Michael - who checked us in and ran the bar, could not have been any more helpful!
