Family Transit Hotel is located 14 mi from Hanoi. It features free WiFi, and a 1-way airport shuttle service via taxi. The hotel also has a children's playground, a restaurant and free parking. Close to the airport and the staff were very helpful and friendly
Just 1.2 mi from Noi Bai International Airport, Indochina Airport Hotel has air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom. Was only a 12 hour stop due to a flight the next day, but had all I needed! The room was very cool during the night which was really nice, and the owner the next day gave me a transfer to the airport for free which was a massive help
Located in Hanoi, 15 mi from Vincom Center Nguyen Chi Thanh, Roma Hotel Noi Bai airport provides accommodations with a restaurant, free private parking, a bar and a garden. Small clean room, it has everything you need for a short rest before the flight. I had read before a lot of bad reviews for other places near the airport, (insects, foul air in the room, dirty, etc..) and I was a bit sceptical about this place but staying here was nice. Owner was very helpful. ~Easier to find this place by the name Sao Mai Hostel.
It's just a nondescript village near the airport. It's fine for a coffee or a beer while you wait for a flight, but there's not much else other than a few karaoke bars. These things are the bain of most towns in vietnam. That said, listening to a drunken Vietnamese bloke singing 'Angels' by Robbie Williams has a surreal humour to it which I personally enjoyed, mainly because he discovered a whole litany of notes between those we generally accept as musical.
It is a good choice for guests arriving late at night or departing early in the morning. I have a big room and a big bed to do the final luggage pack-up. It has a lift ;so you don't need to take your luggage through the stairs like the small hotels in Hanoi. You can even weigh your luggage in the lobby. As I don't want to travel there at night, I arrived the hotel around 6pm. There are only a few small shops and restaurants around. There are a few airport hotel's nearby. If you want to spend your spare time, you have to go to the Airport, which is 10 minutes walk. You can go to the city-centre by bus (at least 30 minutes). I had dinner and breakfast at the Airport. The costs are about 50% higher than the city but it was okay. After all, I have some domestic currency (especially some small change which cannot be converted into dollars) to spend. If you want to convert VND into foreign currencies, you have to exchange it in banks in the Arrival Hall, on the first floor. You have to do it before you go to the Immigration, there is no bank on the third floor, the Departure Hall.
