The perfect safe oasis before ending our trip around South Africa. This beautiful hotel is 15 minutes from the airport. The amenities and service are high quality. The staff is so kind and the food is DELICIOUS! We had dinner the night we arrived (the peri peri chicken and balsamic chicken) - it was a meal you think about after eating. The complimentary breakfast is also delicious. I recommend the eggs Benedict. Everything was 10/10 and the perfect hotel close to the airport.

The size of the property was big enough to have a dining room but small enough that we felt like we were part of a family visiting from out of town. Rooms were large and comfortable, and decorated nicely. The patio, gardens and library nook added exceptional places to relax. Staff were so friendly and helpful. This was our first visit to Joberg and they helped us map out places to see that were not necessarily on the prime tourist lists.

    I lived in Johannesburg many years ago (left in 1999), for 21 years - and loved it. However I had not been back. I was very apprehensive as one hears many horror stories. I was pleasantly surprised. I found everyone polite, no aggression. I drove around at night, on my own....felt quite safe. I took a couple of Ubers and they were good. A few potholes, some lines in the roads missing, but the Joburg drivers use their indicators ....all in all a good experience, I never felt threatened or uncomfortable. I flew in at Lanseria airport and stayed in Sandon, visited, Fourways, Northcliffe and Mayfair....Mayfair was a bit downgraded!

    We had a wonderful time in Johannesburg.

    We had a wonderful time in Johannesburg. We managed to go to some amazing Animal Sanctuaries (as we don't do zoos), such as the monkey and elephant sanctuary. Definitely recommend going there! Getting around was cheap as we used Ubers. We never had to wait long for one. We went on some trips further out of Johannesburg (eg. Qwabi game reserve- AMAZING!!) but hired a bus and a van to do so on those occasions. One such place we went to was Lesedi village. We had been years before and wanted to make sure to go again this time. The arts and crafts for sale are amazing and so much cheaper than buying them from the shops in the Mall or the airport. The money also goes straight to the crafters. Another amazing find was Rosebank Arts and Crafts Market. I wanted to buy so many things but couldn't. The prices there are about 1/3 of the airport price. It's also amazing to be able to speak to all the amazing makers. Shout out to Jasper at the market! We would definitely recommend going on at least one game drive. (Please do some research on the ethics of any that you decide on). We stayed at Letamo (family friendly lodge) at Qwabi Game Reserve. The lodge was amazing and the staff too. The game rangers were phenomenal! If vegan- then Woolworths has a pretty good selection for vegans. We loved our trip so much and were sad to leave.

    I've been to Joburg so many times but its always fun to visit. I took the Red Bus around which was a first for me. Museums, galleries, cafe's and bars plus the general city vibe. Everyone knows Joburg is edgy but if you have an open mind you'll love it

    I was in Rosebank during my stay but also manged to visit...

    I was in Rosebank during my stay but also manged to visit Sandton and Fourways. All the places I visited i enjoyed everything from the food, secure atmosphere and good quality stuff for shopping. However, I didn't visit the CBD because of the stories of crime and dangers thus I was advised not to go there.

    This area of Johannesburg is simply horrid and all other hotels have dreadful reviews. I chose the most expensive hotel with the best reviews. I was check in and given my key to a room that had not been cleaned. The manager was so apologetic and upgraded me to another room. Also not been cleaned!!! The manager did her best to compensate me and that was appreciated.

    Wonderful location. I think this is the best location in Sandton for literally everything from transport to shopping and business. Johannesburg may not be a walking city but at this location one can experience the vibe of walking in a big city at night, even just from Sandton city to the hotel.
