Fraser and Elvina at the front desk were amazing!. Very friendly and incredibly helpful. We are from the US and wanted to go to Luzerne and were a bit uncomfortable taking the train ourselves. Fraser walked me through the process, helped us buy tickets and provided printed material. A very pleasant and professional man with a a great attitude. Elvina was also very pleasant and helpful and had offered to do the same. I talked to her multiple times, she was also very helpful and made me feel like she had all the time in the world for me. Both were exceptionally well groomed!

The receptionists were very helpful. They were well prepared with maps on which they marked Christmas markets and the closest trams. They also provided Basel cards which were helpful when moving around the city. The room was big, tidy and included a kitchenette ( the kettle, combined with the tea bags from reception kept us warm). Also there are other appliances in the lobby that you could borrow. The buffet breakfast was quite diverse (having the option to make fresh orange juice was appreciated).

The Hotel Alexander is located right at the Messe Basel fairgrounds and the Congress Center, a 7-minute ride from the center of Basel. The tram stop is right outside. Free Wi-Fi is available.

Very good value for money, near train station, restaurants and the family room was really huge and plus the jacuzzi was really great. Our family had fun. The food was also really good.

The hotel is centrally located, with the center just a short walk away, and tram lines right outside the door. The single room and its bed are both pretty generously sized, comfortable, and immaculate. The staff at both reception and the restaurant could not have been more accommodating. This will be home base when visiting Basel in the future.
