Beautiful setting by the River Wye-lovely area for walks! The room was large and comfortable and the bathroom was well-appointed with lovely products and good lighting, scrupulously clean! We loved the cozy restaurant and were very pleased with the excellent quality of the meals, including breakfast. The wait staff couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating.

We loved everything about our stay here. The room was cute and clean (a bit small), the staff was lovely, food good as well. They are very dog friendly which we loved! The hotel is beautiful and historic and nestled in the prettiest little village. We will definitely be returning whenever we come to visit our welsh family.

My partner and I absolutely loved the room - we stayed in the 'Coal Cellar', which has a ground level room, but a below-ground bathroom. The whole place has an eco vibe with a luxury feel; lots of greenery and bare wood, subtle lighting, and it is set in stunning woodland. We received a really warm welcome from Jon, and immediately made ourselves a cuppa from the hospitality tray. The room was nice and quiet, the bed linen was of really good quality, and the bathroom was like entering a steampunk forest grotto (with the benefit of underfloor heating). The online photos are a really good representation of this lovely hideaway. There is free onsite parking right outside the accommodation.

The inn is set in a very lovely location, with plenty of activities to do. No words to describe the beauty of the surroundings. Good place for walks or kayaking. We walked to Monmouth and back round the River Wye, going through woods and fields of meadows. The room and bathroom is very clean. Staff is also very helpful. A young lady by the name of Beth helped me to take me with our two suitcases as my husband parked our car. All the staff who served us dinner and breakfast were very warm and friendly.

Delicious fish pie, chunky fresh fish and lots of perfectly cooked veg in the side. Felt like a home cooked meal which is just what I wanted after a long day hiking. Staff were super friendly and helpful. It really has the feel of a family run hotel. Room was cosy and clean, spotless bathroom, felt quite new. I had an awesome sleep too, I’ll definitely be back!
