The building and the rooms are gorgeous, located perfectly on the Main Street with a bus stop right outside and a close walk to the train station. The food was amazing, highly recommend eating there, and the staff were very accommodating. The lady who checked us in and was also our server, Maya, was incredibly friendly and helpful, thank you! We would love to return to The George

Everything. Breakfast was lovely. Tasting menu was amazing. Staff were great, especially the girl on the reception/room service who we saw the most. Would visit again and highly recommend. Stayed in one of the ?garden rooms (seperate building with large room and bathroom). Was a very pleasant stay. Peaceful and private.

    Magnificent place for a stay in the beautiful Peak District. Quite chique and very well kept building. The room was spacious and shower very nice - ideal after a beautiful hike with the hotel as perfect start and finish location. The restaurant offered many choices and delivered on quality.

    Beautiful building with lovely lounge areas. Great food and friendly, helpful staff. Stayed in comfortable ´Cosy’ double which was actually very spacious! Very clean. Great breakfast which you could tell was quality produce. Fantastic location. Did a great walk from the hotel up to Stanage edge

    The room was stylish and beautiful with a huge comfy bed and lovely White Company toiletries. The night we stayed, the bar and restaurant were full of people celebrating the re-opening of the George after 8 months of closure due to storm Babet. There was such a lovely buzz and a very friendly atmosphere. The staff were helpful and welcoming and the hotel has a modern elegance. Incredible value for money too.
