Total gem of a hotel. Great location - a nice quiet neighbourhood, 2 minutes from a train station so easy access to everything or a ten minute cycle ride (bike hire outside the station) right into the centre. Incredibly friendly staff, so welcoming, and fabulous rooms. The room, though small, was beautifully appointed and very well thought out. Bed was comfortable, and large and the bathroom was genuinely brilliant - loads of shelf space (a rare thing these days) for your bits and bobs and the shower was big, hot and powerful. I can't recommend this hotel enough. Spotlessly clean, new and just lovely.

The city is beautiful and there are many things to be seen and enjoyed. I can hardly wait to visit again! A lot of nice shops and things to do, esp if you go by St Pauli in the evening (although if travelling alone as a female, maybe it's not the best place after dark)

There are some great places to see in Hamburg.

There are some great places to see in Hamburg. Interesting town with character and traditions. Good architecture and many museums for all tastes. Lot of bars restaurants of all cuisines. Night life is OK too. No regrets about visiting the town

The area around the lake and Rathaus is lovely with a great...

The area around the lake and Rathaus is lovely with a great shopping centre. We nearly missed this as the direct road from the station to the Rathaus is much less pretty. Would recommend the Minatur Wunderland and harbour boat trip as well as a trip to the viewing platform at the symphonia building. The industrial area with the canals looked much nicer after dark.

Didn't like it at all nope.

Didn't like it at all nope. Main train station in hamburg like the set of the walking dead or 28 days later didnt feel safe at all. Most but not all people where very rude. Will not go again.

Really interesting.

Really interesting. Took a bike tour and learnt a little about the development on the city and the harbour, the link with Dutch engineers and workmen, and the impact of WWar II. Later we took a fabulous evening boat cruise to see the city and harbour lights.

My stay in Hamburg was short as I had dropped in to see one...

My stay in Hamburg was short as I had dropped in to see one thing. The part of the city where the hotel is located seemed a bit rough and ready. Although had we paid more to stay on the other side of the railway station it might have been a different story. Our stay was good and comfortable. As with any place in the world, assess your local conditions and stick to what you know about your situation. It was easy to walk around the place for the day we were there. If I was staying longer, I would be getting a type of travel pass to use on public transport to get around easier. Various cities in Europe have these systems to help out travelling around.

Quick uncomplicated check-in, by polite staff. The room was small but comfortable, and quiet despite facing onto a small but often busy road. Just a short walk from the station and city centre, and an even shorter walk to the Alster lake. I did not visit the hotel's restaurant/bar, so cannot rate those facilities. There are several nice cafés in the area, the nearest "Mitte Hamburg", just a 2-minute walk from the hotel towards the station, and numerous other options 5-10 minutes away in the St. Georg area.

Very comfortable beds and a good size room/bathroom for two people. Good location as it's very close to a S-bahn and bus station. However, it is not very close to any Hamburg attractions. You need to catch the train to get to the centre of Hamburg from this hotel. It is not walking distance to the centre. Nice bar area too. Check-out on Sunday was at 12pm which I loved!
