YHA Ilam Hall

The YHA Ilam Hall has dormitory rooms, most containing bunk beds, with shared bathroom facilities. The magnificent Victorian building also houses a sumptuous lounge with a TV and games area.
YHA Ilam Hall Hostel is a National Trust property, and the River Manifold runs through the beautiful grounds. Alton Towers is a 15-minute drive away, and Chatsworth House is a 30-minute drive.
Great atmosphere. People running the place are really kind, laid-back and helpful. Food was decent too. Our kids had a lovely time. The setting is just beautiful, lovely gardens bordered by the river. Tranquil and peaceful place at the edge of the Peak District.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The grounds were beautiful, and the food was wonderful!

Verry clean great value for money not the best of location as its verry dark outside at night and a few sketchy people about of a night but i had a great stay

The location of this hotel is the best part and the reason most will book. I booked a budget room which was as expected. It was very clean, warm and very average. The artwork chosen around the hotel is not fitting to the rest mod the decor and cheapen the hotel. The staff were polite, accommodating and available.

Great location just off a main road so easy to find. Kinder Lodge stands out as an impressive stone built Inn wth plenty of seating inside and out. Kindly made a pot of tea for our older driving participants. The bar was busy and the staff still managed to get us booked in between the pints. Great atmostphere in the bar with the TV's, pool table and darts all on the go. We drove 5 minutes down the same road for a curry at New Mills which my friends like to do, then back to the bar for the evening.

Lovely friendly greeting from the lady proprietor. Four poster bed, warm and comfortable with a brand new shower room, comfortable and safe. Amazing Georgian building of character filled with period furniture and objets d’art. Great location and as a single lady travelling on my own I felt safe and secure. Really good value for money too.

Great location, beautiful inside and out. Parking felt safe and secure and was plenty available. Reception area welcoming and staff friendly and approachable. Room was lovely, massive points for black out curtains that actually work and comfy bed. Food and cocktails in the bar and restaurant were of excellent quality and something for every one. Decent breakfast with fresh food and plenty of options.
