Palais Brambilla was built in 1861 as one of the first buildings on the Vienna Ring - the famous boulevard circling the historic city. The building is a pristine example for the Romantic Historic style with balconies and delicate decorations and other details. The host – Markus P. Swittalek – is an architect and architectural historian, who cares for the details. Some apartments have great views overlooking the city, others are facing our private court yard with a fountain. There are elevators and some apartments are handicap friendly. The apartments are fully equipped and furnished with some delicate antiques from the 1900ths to the 1930ies. Since Markus lives on site, he is available for special requests and needs. Hospitality is in his genes. Palais Brambilla is named after Markus Italian ancestors, who moved to Vienna in the 18th century. It came into his family shortly after it was built. Alessandro de Brambilla was a world-famous surgeon during the Age of Enlightenment. He became the personal surgeon of Emperor Joseph II. The two travelled across Europe and then they redesigned the medical services all over the Habsburg Empire to improve health, healing and wellbeing.

He is a recognized expert for building preservation and dedicated designer within historic environments. He is commissioned to work on medieval castles, baroque palaces and 19th century villas town houses or apartment blocks. He is an author and a university teacher. In its name his company "moment-home" reflects his personal motto: “we are living the moment.”

At Palais Brambilla you can have it both ways – staying right in the center and keeping a distance to the crowds. You’ve got most of the sights within walking distance and are accommodated in a remote residential neighborhood with little cafés and restaurants. There are shops and groceries but also parks, playgrounds and even a dog park.
