I am a passionate lover of stadiums and huge concert events, so I was looking forward to the Wiener Stadthalle in advance, just like a normal stadium, for about 17,000 people max (same as O2 Prague or Mercedes Benz Arena in Berlin). inside) and an unmaintained stadium, I would quickly renovate! And mainly mainly due to the fact that Vienna is in fact beautiful and elegant in itself ... Unfortunately, this concrete scarecrow, a few streets from the center, spoils the whole impression of Vienna. I was here on June 4th 2018, if its already renovated, my apologies, for older review.
Not all seats are appropriate for price, need more toilet facilities, need more signs in English. The staff helpful but even they didn't know what was going on so much, like not sure if 2 or 3 Acts the night we went.
I have visited couple of concerts and events there and it has always been a very positive experience for me - the place has excellent transport connections via public transport - metro line U6 (Burggasse - Stadthalle stop), trams and two bus lines can get you there in no time from almost anywhere within the city. There is also a large parking lot and a shopping center right next to it in case you would like to have coffee or buy something before entering the hall. For the entrance there are queues and they all go pretty fast as the organization is very well-maintained while people are getting inside - nevertheless, it is always better to be there on time at least 40 min before the start of the event. As soon as your experience with Wienerstadthalle has finished you might consider visiting another interesting place nearby - the main library located just above the U6 metro station. It offers not only access to a wide variety of books and multimedia but also there is the restaurant "OBEN" situated on the top with splendid view of the city and the mountain.
Wiener Stadthalle is very close - 4 min to walk
