Great place if you want to go out to Whitsunday Island.
Great place if you want to go out to Whitsunday Island. Personally I would recommend going on a schooner (Whitehaven Day Sail) rather than the fast track boats. Much more personal experience. Great time to visit, Great Barrier Reef festival in full swing, lots of amazing restaurants and entertainment even in the winter months. Loved new bar, Mulligans, usual favourite restaurants Mika, The Deck, Club Whitsunday, Gelatiamo Dolce Patisserie & Gelato. Groceries, Chemist etc all within easy walking distance off Main Street. Beautiful views, very hilly so walking a bit of a challenge. We stayed about 2 km out with a baby - so preferred to drive. Main town area itself flat, with good facilities - number of good restaurants and pubs - a couple with great views! General shopping quite good too. Jump off point for the Whitsundays.
Jump off point for the Whitsundays. Smart town with great restaurants and an excellent marina complete with superyachts and charter boats. Iconic Australian Maxi yacht experiences not available in many places. We’ve been a few times before and are finding great new places every time we return. Can’t wait to escape Southern winter and return to Airlie Beach again! Whitsunday Yacht Club is friendly and welcoming and has great views and food to choose from.Guest review byRossAustralia - 10.0

Airlie Beach is a stunning beautiful place. There is a lot to see and do there. You can then explore the Whitsundays from Airlie Beach. In winter it is still very warm with blue skies and sunshine. Surrounding towns and beaches are also nice to visit. I would highly recommend a flight over the Great Barrier Reef. I would also recommend the boat tour to the stunning Whitehaven Beach. Lovely shopping and great eating. I am not a fan of paid parking everywhere and 1 hour parking, it stopped us from doing more and the signage was tricky to find in a couple of instances. We ate at 'Sorrento' which had awesome food and atmosphere and 'The Deck' we ate at multiple times as it had the best staff and service I have ever experienced!Guest review byJacquelineAustralia

The hotel is absolutely beautifully designed and maintained, with a feeling of being a home from home. Our room was comfortable and quiet, with a private bathroom next door. We woke to the smell of freshly baked banana and chocolate muffins and lemon cake two days in a row not to mention the fresh fruit courtesy of the house. We asked to change a room cos our balcony was facing swimming pool and it was done without any problems. Staff were lovely. I cannot fault it.
