Bed and facilities were fine but furniture felt a little sticky. Surfaces on wooden table tops needed to be resurfaced.

Bairnsdale is a large country town. The Catholic Church as you you enter from the Melbourne side on the left is definitely worth a visit. A volunteer is available and has a wealth of information in relation to the church and history of the area. Not to be missed.
There are plenty of shops, the Potted Pear, gift wares, is great.
There are museums, historical and Aboriginal.
Bairnsdale is a lovely place for a day visit.

Typical Australian town which is busy during the day and completely dead at night. Felt quite safe to walk around early evening but can't comment on late evening. All usual shops available.
We ate at the Cow & Fish Pub which was excellent for food but lacked soft furnishings in the dining area. Felt it was a bit like a social club rather than a hotel/restaurant.
Very convenient for us as travelling down to Paynesville and Lakes Entrance which is only a 25 minute drive away. Also played golf at Metung Country Club which was excellent including lunch at the club house.

Our stay was way too short.
Our stay was way too short. Bairnsdale allows you the perfect location to explore the region.
You have to try the Thai restaurant Cinnamon, it was amazing and the flavours are on point.
We ventured to Metung and Lakes Entrance and could have easily done multiple days at both locations.

Loved my walk by the river and seeing the bats!

RSL served us the wrong order steak that was boot leather.
RSL served us the wrong order steak that was boot leather. surrounding cafes served overpriced meals. A lot of foot traffic around left us not leaving doors unlocked. We used it as a destination for the hotel. And that is where it ended. however we only stayed one night.

The Mitchel River Tavern is an interesting place to stay.
The Mitchel River Tavern is an interesting place to stay. Close to the centre of Bairnsdal, it has comfortable accommodation, a Bistro, Barm, Club and off-street parking.
Staff were helpful and checkin and out was fast and relaxed.
This is an older style motel complex located just a 10 minute/1 km walk from the town centre with spacious, clean rooms that are very well equipped with a kitchenette and large bathroom. The rooms are well designed with plenty of power and USB charging points and places/shelves for your luggage and personal effects. They even had decent wine in the minibar, leaf tea and ground coffee! Debbie is lovely and the staff are also very friendly. This is country hospitality at its best and really good value for money!
The facilities felt fresh and up-to-date - the room was clean, spacious and bright. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the owner was lovely. I recommend the hotel restaurant, too. There didn't seem to be many restaurants within walking distance, so my friend and I had breakfast there each morning and really enjoyed it.
Lovely cabin in caravan park next to the river. Spacious, comfortable and cosy cabin in great location near shops, cafes, restaurants, public transport, walking tracks and cycle trail. The best of all worlds! Welcoming staff and friendly people everywhere - a really warm relaxing country experience.
Bairnsdale hotel was beautifully clean and was more like an apartment than a motel room. washing machine and dryer, small kitchen area, table and chairs and sitting area. spacious bathroom. it was our second stay and wouldn’t hesitate to book again if in Bairnsdale.
Excellent customer service, clean perfect sized room with car park outside room. Usual kitchen facilities and mini laundry room with washing machine, dryer & ironing supplies. Bed & pillows were lovely & comfortable and supplied with drinks & snacks for a price.
Nothing. The staff member at the office was incredibly inappropriately rude asking me why I was making a booking if I live in Bairnsdale. People don’t just book accommodation for work although I am only working here, I still would like to see family.
Every time we stay in Bairnsdale, we stay here. I couldn’t fault the room. It’s always clean, the beds are comfy, the parking is close by, and it’s reasonably priced. It is also central to town. Really enjoyed our stay 😊
The location was great as I was stuck in hospital when I booked. I was able to book online once I found out I was delayed in hospital. This was the closest motel and probably the best value.
We were very pleased that when there was a double booking made by mistake the motel acted immediately - late at night - and did not charge for cancellation.
