One of my favourites in Harz.
One of my favourites in Harz. In the middle of Harz forests. Best walking trail to Brocken. Very picturesque and lots of atmosphere. Unfortunately it has been a bit overdeveloped in the past few years in my opinion. So it gets extremely busy at weekends and holidays, particularly when the weather is good. Parking will then be a problem and it's then simply too much. I hope that the real locals benefit from it at least and not only investors.

The room is super clean and comfortable, breakfast is tasty and generous, and people are extremely kind and friendly. Hiking trails are nearby as well as the station of the tourist train. The place was super quiet. The breakfast was very good, tons of options, the staff upon my advance notice even arranged for gluten-free rolls for my wife. The place is a good start for hiking in Harz (e.g. when going to Brocken).

The owner was flexible with check-in and check-out time and this is always appreciated. Parking in front of the house, possibility to store the bikes (if necessary)! There is a really nice restaurant just 200m away from the property and, as expected, hiking/biking trails are "around" the corner.

Beds were very comfortable and the shared facilities were clean and enough to not produce a queue. The hiking path is right behind the house. Perfect stay all in all.

Our hosts made sure that everything was ready for us when we arrived.
