My husband and I moved from Scotland to Spain in 2005 with our two young boys to enjoy a more relaxed and tranquil life. When we bought the house it was basically a shell with no running water, toilet or kitchen but it was a great adventure and we spent 10 happy years here gradually renovating the property whilst also living in it. The children attended the local school and we were welcomed with open arms by the local villagers. Finally after 19 years we have finished the renovations and hope that holiday makers will enjoy the peace and tranquility of this beautiful part of Spain as much as we do.
The village of Algarinejo is located a 15 minute drive (7.5km) from Villa Valle de Olivos. It is situated in the northwestern part of Granada province close to the border of Córdoba province. Algarinejo and its surrounding areas offer a unique blend of historical charm, natural beauty and cultural richness. The area has several walking/hiking routes where you can enjoy the beautiful countryside. The village offers all amenities such as supermarkets, banks, pharmacies, bars and restaurants and medical centre. You can reach various other picturesque villages and towns all within an hours drive from Villa Valle de Olivos.
