Magnificent. Important: you need to book your ticket in time - I recommend 1 month before your visit!! Book a ticket for all palaces and places, it's worth it. We had a guided tour and that was also great. It takes approximately 3 hours and you need to walk a lot.
We took the day tour as we arrived last minute but managed to secure a tour with a guide. We would highly recommend the night tour as we were only able to see the place lit up from our hotel and from the view point from across the city. If you want history and feel like you have had an experience you will never forget, this is the place for you.
GETYOURGUIDE did and excellent job with the tour of a fabulous historic landmark. The Generalife was included in our tour but we chose not to do it. We were most interested in the Alhambra which was exsquisite.
Book tickets weeks in advance or you'll have to pay a tout and you probably won't get into the palaces short of spending hundreds of euros. Even generalife etc cost us 38 euros for a 7 euro ticket
Despite having the wrong ticket and not able to visit the Nasrid Palace and Generalife, we still had a good time walking around the complex and I saw the little garden where Isabella asked to be buried. It's a beautiful place. Book your tickets early on their website as they get sold out. We tried booking tickets for the next couple of days but there was none left.
Go up to Alhambra by bus and start your tour at the Generalife followed by the Nastrid Palace in the evening (based on the time slot you have booked). Afterwards you can visit the rest of the city and end your day in Alcazaba in the afternoon to take better photos before sunset. The Audio guides cost 6 Euros per person and are worth having if you do not have a tour guide.
The rooms were immaculate. The location was perfection— right near the world famous Alhambra and Generalife Gardens! The front desk staff was exceptional—extremely accommodating. The chef was excellent and the food quality was outstanding.
the location was great. right next door to Zara’s Burger King and and easy walk from the car park. also a beautiful walk to the tourist info area where we started our tour of Alhambra and generalife.
The Alhambra inside and out is more beautiful in person than any picture can capture. The views from around town with the mountainous background are breathtaking. Enjoying that with wine and a complimentary cocktail is a perfect day in my experience.
The whole city, downtown and vicinity, is a living area with its beautiful Alhambra as a background, its gypsies and flamenco music and dancing, great music and its gorgeous buildings and churches make it a place in which you will feel part of an Arabian story.
The Alhambra is a must see if you are planning a trip to Spain. The crowds are kept to a minimum by carefully timed entrances to the Palace and the grounds which enhances the overall experience. Fantastic!
Taking a tour that includes time to see the Alhambra and Albayzín is key, but also take time to walk slowly in the small streets. Stop for ice cream or beer w/ tapas. Look up at the buildings as you walk to notice all the architectural details.
The Alhambra for starters, along with the history surrounding the battle for Granada between the Moors and the Catholic monarchs. Washington Irving and his tales of the Alhambra ... The list goes on ...
Alhambra is the first and foremost attraction of all Granada although the cathedral is a worthy place to have a look as well.
