Alhambra Palace is located just outside the Alhambra’s ancient walls, offering spectacular views over the city of Granada. Good view of the city. Clean and spacious room.
This place is overwhelming - in size and content and overflowing with the echoes of history. You simply must go here. Book VERY early, like months in advance if you can. In the summer it can indeed be booked out! We recommend booking the combined ticket that allows you to see the Alcazar by night (really a treat) and the rest on the next day. You will need lots of time to explore the entire area, investigate all the things to see and take in the amazing views. It is very easy to get public transport from the city.
Brilliant architecture.Book ahead , on the official site, for timed entry into Nasrid palace. Once you get into the palace you can stay inside as long as you like. Walk in the generalife is very relaxing. Drinking water fountains scattered on the premises. Restaurants outside are nice , but you pay a big premium for eating at this location.
A must see, just an amazing place with the history and architecture. Takes at least two hours to see it and if you add a walk through the park, add another hour. The views from here are great too, you can see the city and most of the surrounding lands.
If you can't make a reservation before you go, then your hotel may have tickets available (some are set aside for local businesses) if you stay for three days. That's to deter all the tickets going to tour group day trippers.
Recommend that you buy your tickets online directly from the site to save money, then download the iPhone app audio guide for $2. That will save you 70$ or more for a couple and allow you to take your time and listen in comfort over your favorite headphones. We used apple Air Pods with our iPhone and left the Android devices that we were charged a fortune for back at the tourist agency. (Advice skipping the tourist agency, but their app is actually ok and the same for iPhone as for their loaner devices that they charge a fortune for.
Great place - I recommend to read all the conditions of entrances, types of tickets and the conditions. I've noticed many people struggled with the tickets, reservations. Not enough places for bathroom, refreshments, resting areas to sit and just relax. Too many people and could be better organized for such a entrance fees.
The Alhambra inside and out is more beautiful in person than any picture can capture. The views from around town with the mountainous background are breathtaking. Enjoying that with wine and a complimentary cocktail is a perfect day in my experience.
The whole city, downtown and vicinity, is a living area with its beautiful Alhambra as a background, its gypsies and flamenco music and dancing, great music and its gorgeous buildings and churches make it a place in which you will feel part of an Arabian story.
The Alhambra is a must see if you are planning a trip to Spain. The crowds are kept to a minimum by carefully timed entrances to the Palace and the grounds which enhances the overall experience. Fantastic!
Taking a tour that includes time to see the Alhambra and Albayzín is key, but also take time to walk slowly in the small streets. Stop for ice cream or beer w/ tapas. Look up at the buildings as you walk to notice all the architectural details.
The Alhambra for starters, along with the history surrounding the battle for Granada between the Moors and the Catholic monarchs. Washington Irving and his tales of the Alhambra ... The list goes on ...
Alhambra is the first and foremost attraction of all Granada although the cathedral is a worthy place to have a look as well.
