A spacious holiday house for 12 with pool, patio and garden in a peaceful tiny village near Belvès. On the top of a hill it has magnificent views over the surrounding valleys. It is a typical perigordian barn of 200m², recently and carefully restored by their owners. It is situated in a tiny, very peaceful village (Le Mas) near Carves in the Black Perigord part of Dordogne. On the top of a hill it has the most magnificent views over the surrounding valleys and of the medieval town of Belvès 6 kilometers away. Surrounded by fields and woods, the delightful lanes and paths all around are an invitation for wonderful country walks. Twenty minutes from Sarlat and 5 minutes from the Dordogne river the house is ideally situated for visiting the region and discovering the beauties of the "Perigord Noir".
Situated in the south west of France the Dordogne also known as Perigord has the reputation of being one of the most pleasant places to live in France thanks to its climate, magnificent countryside, food and wine and its architectural treasures. It has after all been lived in for tens of thousand of years since Cro-Magnon. It is according to Henry Miller " the country of enchantment which the poets have staked out and which they alone may lay claim to. It is the nearest thing to Paradise this side of Greece. France may one day exist no more, but the Dordogne will live on just as dreams live on and nourish the souls of men." - The Colossus of Maroussi. Ideally situated for visiting the numerous prehistoric sites like Lascaux , Fond de Gaume les Combarelles, the chateaux such as Castelnaud, Commarque, Biron, the vinyards of Bergerac , Monbazillac Garry and Marie-Pierre will be delighted to help you organise your stay.
