The place is absolutely beautiful and location is perfect! The room was fine for us as a family of 5 and the kids loved the bunk beds option! We were able to check in a little bit early too which was great with having 3 kids. The communal lounge kitchen area is fantastic too! Lots of appliances and fridge space and even a vending machine. Loads of little areas to sit in the lounge and board games for families having nights in!

Amble is a little gem on the Northumbrian Cost. The fishing harbour was busy with activities and restaurants. we used it as a base for exploring the coast up as far as Lindisfarne, under an hour away on the coast road by car.
You can walk around Amble and there are car parks if you are a day visitor. Loads of good restaurants, many specialising in fish which we really enjoyed. Booking is recommended for evenings and last sittings are often 8pm.
We visited in June and though the weather wasn't great, we needed jackets, it didn't stop us. One of my favourite was sitting on the harbour wall watching the sun set over the Coquet Estuary towards Walkworth with its castle.

Amble was not only a great harbour area.
Amble was not only a great harbour area. It also had a Sunday market and sea walks in either direction. Also many other sites to go and see only short drives of less than half an hour.
Plenty of places to eat and drink.

Amble has a couple of good seafood restaurants - we especially liked the Fish Shack - and nice pubs, but is otherwise very quiet. There are nice walks along the harbour and river. It’s a good location for exploring the area. We walked on Banburgh beach and took an excellent boat trip from seahouses. A couple of complaints- everywhere we went, staff sprayed tables with strong smelling spray which caused an allergic reaction and put us off our food! Also, it was difficult to find a café in nearby towns.

The Northumberland Coast is beautiful.
The Northumberland Coast is beautiful. Amble is a thriving, busy, friendly and interesting little town, with many independent little stores, cafes and groceries shops. Very good fish eateries with sea views and Amble's little harbour village shops are always worth a visit.

Amble has been a favourite destination for a number of years now and have noted how it has gradually become more popular probably due to the increase in lovely retail units down by the harbour and a good range of restaurants. At its heart, Amble is still a working port which in itself is part of its charm. The Old Boat House is always high on our list when we visit - anyone that likes fish has to try it - you won’t be disappointed.
