Beautiful house, exactly as described. Had everything we needed and the beds were super comfy. We only stayed one night so didn't get a chance to explore the location but it was very close to Chester.

Contemporary, full of character & quirky features & ideally situated in Handbridge, a 10-minute stroll over the Old Dee Bridge to the stunning walled city of Chester. This gorgeous Grade II Listed worker’s cottage built in the late 1800's for the Duke of Westminster's Grosvenor Estate comfortably sleeps 6 with 3 double bedrooms. Wooden beams, log burning stoves, limestone & oiled wood floors & a lovely enclosed outside courtyard, its cosy & snug in winter & light and sunny in summer. Upstairs, the bedrooms (twin, double & king) have original fireplaces, solid oak beams, soft & luxurious bed linen, duck down & feather pillows/duvets & super-comfy mattresses. The sitting room has a log burner, smart TV with integrated DVD and lounging for 6…the separate dining room has a beamed inglenook fireplace with log burner, large farmhouse style dining table, stereo & a cabinet of books & games. The kitchen & utility are fully equipped for a home from home. The bathroom is situated off the downstairs hallway with rainfall style shower, bath, loo & sink. Soft fluffy towels, Neal’s Yard goodies provided. Travel cot/high chair are available on request. A fabulous welcome pack will await you!

We want you to be able to put your feet up and instantly feel at home after a day sightseeing our beautiful city, in a home that suits everyone - families, couples, individuals, of all ages, all nationalities and for all occasions. We love welcoming people from all over and one of the most rewarding elements of being a Superhost is the interaction with our guests, in person or not, it opens up the world! We are so proud of Chester, and being part of it. Walk the walls, in any weather, it gives you a different perspective of the city.
Handbridge is a beautiful village just over the Old Dee Bridge from Chester, easy walking distance to the city. It has many listed buildings of its own & some lovely walks. There are a number of good local pubs & cafes serving food, a petrol station, pharmacist, newsagents & an award winning butchers. The cottage’s close proximity to the city means you can easily explore it by foot, whether you want to shop, cruise on the river, check out the Roodee race calendar, discover the city walls with their nooks and crannies or you can even 'get on yer bike' on its many cycle routes. Discover the hidden gems within the cobbled streets & don't forget to look up. Spend a few moments people watching from the walls, wander into the shops that line its way. Stop for a cuppa or an ice cream in the Roman gardens or by the bandstand on the River Dee. Watch the boats & the world go by or feed the ducks on the weir. If you want to rest your legs, hop on & off the Open top bus tour, take a boat or canal trip. At any time of year, there are events, exhibitions, festivals, shows, markets & a host of cultural activities. Always, Chester is a beautiful place to visit.
