Chester Zoo vies (with Whipsnade) as the UK's best zoo.
Chester Zoo vies (with Whipsnade) as the UK's best zoo. This is a stunning, world class zoo with a broad and mainly breeding collection, supporting associated conservation projects globally. I would like more detailed information available online about habitats/animals but on the ground, a day-long visit leaves you wanting even more. Enjoy! Then come again.....

Can spend the whole day here and still not manage to see everything, absolutely love this place! Would suggest to bring your own lunch though, can be crowded at the on-site food places and it's not cheap!

Plan your trip ahead so you don't miss out on the animal feeding times. Download the phone app before you leave. Fabulous day out, but you need comfortable shoes as there is lots of walking. We took a packed lunch and drinks as the prices would have made the day trip very expensive.

Get there early or late to beat the crowds.
Get there early or late to beat the crowds. Currently there is a lot of queuing to get in to see anything, but we didn't get to see any of the big cats. Very poor distancing in all open areas and in the queues. (Poor)

Fantastic "Zoo".
Fantastic "Zoo". The animals all looked so well cared for and were in great habitats.
We walked around Zoo for about 5 hours to ensure we saw all the animals, so need to wear comfortable shoes and clothes.

Lovely stay. The room was beautifully clean. Modern heating and door systems. Tea and coffee in room ready for us. The gentleman on reception was very friendly and helpful. McDonald's, Costa, spar and whsmith over the road. Perfect location to stay before our visit to Chester zoo the following day.
Lovely welcoming staff. Spa facilities quite small however very nice. Room was lovely and clean, bed was super comfy and bathroom was incredible. Breakfast fit for purpose and food still warm. Would recommend and defo stay again. Also, 100% recommend visiting Chester Zoo while you're close by!
The hotel was easy to find and ideally located for our visit to Chester Zoo. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great with plenty of options.
Perfect location for parking up and exploring Chester and a short drive to Chester zoo. Staff were exceptional, Lisa and James were friendly attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Sarah is lovely , a fabulous host and has got the apartment to a very high standard. The kitchen was very well equipped with every cooking utensil you will need. The view of the River Dee was fab!
The owner Dorota is lovely, very pleasant lady and very helpful. She was very flexible with our two little boys who wanted different things for breakfast each day.
We also liked the location, just under 1 mile north of the city and 2.5 miles south of Chester Zoo. Ideal!
