Calne Bed & Breakfast is set in a Bath stone house in the small town of Calne, convenient for the many historic market towns of Wiltshire, including Devizes, Chippenham (with its train station) Marborough and the beautiful Georgian town of Bath. The accommodation is simple, comfortable and welcoming. The area has a wealth of places of interest including Avebury Stone Circles, Silbury Hill, and West Kennet Long Barrow all of which are only ten minutes' drive from Calne. During the summer months the surrounding fields are the scene of many of the beautiful and enigmatic crop circles, where many of the world's crop formations are found. Calne Bed and Breakfast is the perfect place from which to visit them. Indeed your host would be very happy to escort you on visits to these arable works of art.These appear from mid-may until late August and Gwyneth will take small groups; please enquire. You may want to see these amazing sights from the sky! The microlight centre is just outside Calne - costs from £60. Well worth a visit is the country house of Bowood, with its beautiful grounds, lake and tree-top adventure playground, and inside the beautiful house see its paintings and other treasured works -of-art or eat in the restaurant or cafe. Lacock National Trust village is a 20 minute drive with its lovely old cottages and Abbey and photographic museum. Salisbury plain, the Wiltshire downs, and many of the White Horses carved in the chalk hillsides are all to be found round about. Also cycleways and footpaths throughout the area, some beside the canals so you can explore the delights of the Wiltshire countryside. Other notable towns are within striking distance: take the waters of Bath or visit the historic City of Salisbury with it's majestic cathedral. With local restaurants catering for just about every taste in food Calne B&B is here for your business trips, weekend breaks or longer summer vacation.
