We had two small dogs with us. The hotel is dog friendly so was great for us. The staff were very helpfull and friendly. The room was adequate for 4 nights and close to my family that lived near by so made visiting easy. It was perfect for us and the price was very good.

Actually my home town, good and bad, but that's the case for most towns. Plenty of pubs and restaurants. Plenty to do and see if you take the time to investigate the area. Plenty of beautiful countryside within a short distance of anywhere in Swindon.

If you don't like roundabouts choose your route wisely,...

If you don't like roundabouts choose your route wisely, there is an area with 5 minis around a larger one - even the locals seem confused as to how to navigate them. Currently lots of roadworks in progress so journey times are extended. Town centre in the evening just like any other town/city nightlife. Attended a market held in the steam museum - well organised and nice venue.

In just a few years the heart has gone out of Swindon.

In just a few years the heart has gone out of Swindon. Many town centre shops are closed and the Brunel centre car park was virtually deserted. Ate in the Chopshop, part of the Royal Oak, and very disappointed with the food. We were not alone in sending some back.

The boiler was not working upon my check in at night and we suffered from having no hot water and shower for the first night stay. Tried to call the Key Sleeps help desk but no luck. Even on next day morning, I had to seek help from someone next door and managed to get some hot water. Only on the second day afternoon the property manager sent someone to check and repair the defective boiler. After rounds and days of complaining and lobbying, they agreed to only refund less than 10% of the total booking charges and took more than one month to refund. The flat was stuffy in summer time and the two table fans did not work neither. Cleaning condition is also bad. I felt so regret to choose this apartment and experienced such poor help desk service.

Swindon is going through massive re-development, avoid if you can. The magic roundabout could be a nightmare for those 1st seeing it. Swindon is `littered` with roundabouts. Does have some excellent and various restaurants. Beer and Cider Fest every year at the Steam Museum. Has a huge Outlet Shopping Centre.
