The facilities in the cottage, the general area, we love Yorkshire, so much to see and do, especially if you like walking and sightseeing. The cottage was well stocked with essentials and the food from shops in the area was fabulous. I highly recommend staying here, the cottage is very homely, and a great base to see that area of Yorkshire.

Caretaker’s Cottage (named as it was the caretakers cottage for the church) was built in 1855, is in the gorgeous village of Melsonby, and has been sympathetically renovated to give very lovely accommodation for up to 3 people. The cottage is furnished and kitted out with everything you can possible need for a comfortable stay with 1 king size bedroom and 1 small bedroom containing a click and clack sofa bed (small double size), fully fitted kitchen, bathroom with shower over bath and a small outside space. Parking can easily be found right outside the cottage
Melsonby is a gorgeous village in the heart of Richmondshire, the locals are incredible friendly and the village pub the hub of the community with regular food events, quizzes and music nights. The market towns of Richmond and Barnard Castle are an equidistant 15 mins away in a car as is the city of Darlington. Wedding venues of Headlam Hall, Middleton Lodge and Gilling Wedding Barns are very close.
