Good breakfast buffet, though the eggs tended to be on the cool side. Lots of choice with fresh fruit. Lovely room in beachy colors. Huge windows overlooking the sea and lots of sunshine. Beautiful views. One window did not open. Small but full bathroom. Amazing snacks in each room. Good blackout curtains.
Take the very fun open top bus to other spots to the West. Sennen Cove was spectacular.
With wonderful views across Penzance Bay, Hotel Penzance offers award-winning cuisine and boutique bedrooms. Guests can relax in the swimming pool in the Mediterranean-style gardens.

Fabulous town, it’s got culture, it’s got architecture, it’s got a great rugby club, it’s got a busy harbour’ it’s got great cafes and restaurants, a stunning promenade and a lot more besides!
Check out what’s going on at The Acorn Theatre which is brilliant.
For a shortish trip see what’s on at The Minack. Best beaches are Sennen, Porthcurno, the Lelant ones, the St. Ives ones, Hayle Towans and Praa Sands. Perranuthnoe beach is good at low tide.
Go to St Ives by train - the view from St Erth into St Ives is breathtaking !

Glad we got tickets for the Minack Theatre and explored the Gobal Telecommunications Museum, took the Coaster bus several tiimes, including to Land's End and walked the Coastal path to Sennen. Enjoyed the Penlee art gallery, especially in the midst of reading "Summer in February." Enjoyed a meal at the oldest pub, and at the Longboat Inn. The staff at the Info Centre were the best - gave us so many tips and set us on the right buses.

i like walking on the promenade, along to Newlyn, took the Mounts Bay coast path to Marazion, took the bus to Trengwainton gardens- lovely to see the magnolias, rhododendrons and camellias - interesting walks round the gardens and a lovely cafe with friendly staff and good food.
Visited Trewidden gardens by bus and also took the train to St. Ives- a lovely scenic run along the coast.
Penzance town has a nice selection of shops and it is worth exploring the back streets and the area round Chapel street. On previous visits have been to the Morrab gardens and other parks. Penzance is easy to walk round, has a good bus service and the tourist information staff are very knowledgable and helpful.

Went in the end of February, it was a quiet time with everything closing by 10pm, and last buses leaving early, but it's just as lovely if not more so as any other time of the year could be. Even for hiking, if you get ready for the wind, the rain, the fog, the mud and the cold.

We came in February so not very busy.
We came in February so not very busy. Many places to walk around, lovely garden in the center of town. Great beach, St Michael's Mount very close by. St Ives also not far away. Great place as a bae to see Cornwall.
+ The location couldn't be better; it's literally right behind the Penzance train station and bus terminal, in the heart of the city centre.
+ I appreciated having a side entrance to come and go, so I didn't have to tromp through the pub lobby every time I went in and out of my room.
+ Fantastic tea service, with local Cornish tea *and* instant coffee, *and* hot chocolate! This was a treat to come back to in the evenings.
+ Outlets conveniently located by the nightstands and the desk.
+ Comfy bed.
THE ROOM WAS HUGE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. LOVELY BED. NICE VIEW OF THE SEA. THE HOTEL IS LOCATED IN THE MOST HISTORIC STREET IN PENZANCE WITH LOVELY ANTIQUE SHOPS AND NOT FAR FROM THE HIGH STREET AND WITHERSPOON JUST AROUND THE CORNER. LOVELY PUB DOWNSTAIRS WITH MUSIC ONCE A WEEK. THE STAFF ALBEIT A HANDFUL WERE EXCELLENT THEY ALL HAD TO CHIP IN TO DO VARIOUS JOBS DUE TO SHORT STAFF AND DID EVERYTHING WITH A SMILE AND WERE SO HELPFUL. I WOULD DEFINATELY GO BACK THERE IF I WERE TO VISIT PENZANCE AGAIN.
Went as a family of 7 for one night. It was perfect for us in Penzance. Room was plenty big enough for all of us - 3 bunk beds and enough space to set up our portable crib. Toilet and shower was outside of the room, but was convenient and clean. Also got the full English breakfast which was fresh cooked and we thought was a good value as well.
Kids always love the bunk bed experience. Wife loved the setting of the hotel. I loved the value. Would definitely return.
A very nice older building with well appointed rooms. Very close to the waterfront and great walks back to Penzance and Newlyn, where there were some great seafood restaurants. Close to St Michaels Mount, just remember to check the weather as you may have a bumpy boat ride in front of you. The hotel is easy to access and while parking is in the street, there is no problems finding a spot near by.
This is an apartment that is located near the
bus/train station so access to same is
terrific. The bedroom is large, the bed comfortable and the kitchen is user friendly. We had easy and quick access to the owner on some questions and ours were answered within 15 minutes. Overall… Penzance is a great place to visit and I would certainly book this again.
It was a marvelous place to stay. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful. The room was great. I would never stay anywhere else if I went back to Penzance. My picture of the bedroom is after we slept in the bed and we didn't make it up nicely the way our hosts did. I just wanted to show how bright and sunny the room was.
We had a wonderful stay at the Bay Lodge. It was the perfect location from which to explore Penzance, St Michael’s Mount, Newlyn, and Mousehole. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and Clare thought of everything that we might need. It was an easy walk from the train station and a great central location. Breakfast was yummy and made to order!
Public rooms. Ladies toilet on ground floor. parking. Reception desk. Breakfast very good.
Sea view Spacious public rooms. Very good lunch. left my jeans in room and hotel rang me same day to,let me know and offered to,post but friend lives near bye so can arrange collection
Our hosts were exceptionally, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was superb, with a lot of variety. The room was perfect. The location was just right to access Penzance with parking right outside the property. Would definitely recommend and we will visit again.
Friendly helpful owner. Great location with on street parking. within walking distance of Penzance centre. We left early to catch a flight to the Scilley Isles, Continental breakfast was left out for us. The second day we had full Cornish breakfast which was excellent.
The hotel is well located in Penzance for an easy walk to all the main shops etc, and right on the beachfront for the view during breakfast (or from a sea view room, if you get one). It was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and nice.
Very nice property, some of the areas around hotel are in need of updating, but don’t be put off. Very nice staff and food was brilliant. Lovely balcony outside restaurant overlooking pool and Penzance harbour / Town. Would recommend.
Had a fantastic time, excellent hosts with great local knowledge. Room nicely furnished, extremely clean.
Great choice for breakfast. No issues with parking. Excellent location.
Would stay again if we return to Penzance.
very helpful and friendly staff, nothing was to much trouble for the [ Paul in particular ]. but all staff are a credit to the hotel .The hotel holds a great position in Penzance . We will be coming back
The location of the hotel was good for exploring Penzance on foot. Parking is limited but we were able to park four motorcyles outside the hotel. Both rooms were quiet and the breakfast was good.
The location was convenient to Penzance but in a very quiet location. Light and airy decor while keeping some of the original features. Lovely walk in shower. Kitchen was well equipped.
It has parking included on the grounds of the hotel, which was handy. The location is correct, in between Penzance and Marazion. Not much to add, sorry.
