Holt, a bustling and popular Georgian North Norfolk town, is heavenly for shoppers, art and antique lovers and foodies. Its grocery stores offer the best of local produce and there is an impressive choice of cafes, restaurants and pubs. If you like to walk, Holt has its own 100-acre Country Park, Kelling Heath and its pretty woodland trails is very close by, and there are miles and miles of the North Norfolk coastal path to discover too. Holt has its own railway station, from where you can catch the Poppy Line steam train to Weybourne and Sheringham, or connect up with the train to Norwich to explore this fine mediaeval City. The coast is also easily accessed by car; Cley-next-the-Sea is a short drive north and is a pretty village with a landmark windmill, art galleries, a fabulous deli and a tea room. The Norfolk Wildlife Trust visitor centre and Cley Marshes are just outside Cley, where you can sit in the café and enjoy views across the marshes to the sea. Blakeney is an all year round holiday destination, popular with walkers, bird watchers and sailors and is only seven miles away. Families with younger children can enjoy crabbing from the quay and take a boat trip out to Blakeney Point to see the seals. Wells-next-the-Sea, less than half an hour by car, has one of the best beaches along the coast - glorious white sands - cheerfully painted beach huts and a stunning pine forest. A little further on is Holkham, with its majestic hall, stunning parklands and another beautiful, sandy beach. Ten miles away is the family orientated, traditional seaside town of Cromer, which always has something going on with plenty of markets, carnivals and festivals.
