While not in the middle of Bath, a quick 15 minute bus ride and a walk up a beautiful pathway got us to Dolphin House. Jane is a gifted artist and George plays in a rock band--how much cooler can you get? The home dates back to the 1600's and the garden is an oasis, full of colorful flowers, statues, and archways.

There was an old world charm about the whole place.. The place was very quiet and relaxing. Our room had a separate private living room. The bedroom and the living room overlooked the entire garden on the property and the view of houses beyond in the horizon was simply beautiful. The place was great for walks and exploring on foot a couple of quiet and charming villages nearby. The owners Jane and George were very friendly and attentive to our needs. The bus into Bath city was very convenient. We were glad we chose this place to stay for 3 nights instead of Bath city itself.

The bed has to be the best that we have slept in. It was even better than our bed at home. The room is large, well laid out, very quiet and the shutters allow for a black out. George & Jane are lovely hosts and breakfast in the conservatory is nice looking out over the rear of the house and the gardens. Batheaston is a nice little village but still close enough for a short drive to Bath. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes within an easy walk of Dolphin House. We did the Solsbury Hill walk for some wonderful views over the valleys. It was a good test of our fitness. Breakfast at Dolphin House is a good mix of continental fares including orange juice, fresh fruit with yogurt, cereal, ham & cheese, toast and croissants with jam. The coffee was excellent but we didn't try the tea. The parking space was small but excellent for the Bath area where parking is almost impossible.

Wonderful place, standards very high, clean, fully equipped room and very comfortable. quiet location, breakfast was very good (continental), grounds very pleasant. Parking available, lovely guest house. Bathroom was in the hallway , and the room above had a bit of creaky floor (being wooden) but this did not affect my stay.

Located on the slope of Solsbury Hill we loved our stay here and didn't want to leave. The Darcy Room is very tastefully done up and is also quite cosy. Breakfast in the Orangery is a delight and I think I spent about an hour (if not more) on both mornings just sitting and soaking in the surroundings. Both George and Jane make you feel at home and are always excited to share helpful tips about Bath and it's surrounding areas. The bus stop is just a 3-4mins walk from the house and takes you right into the city center. Will definitely come back and stay here again.

The room is spacious even for two people in a classic private house style. The view from my room's window is astounding. I never feel so dreamy and happy waking up like that before. It was a a cozy house with amazing well-taken care garden. It's also Jane and George's house so they are always around. They are amazing hosts, friendly, and make me feel welcome. The area is also peaceful and beautiful for a walk. If you don't mind taking a bus about 20 minutes further from the city centre, I highly recommend the Dolphine house :))

Jane and George were absolutely lovely, and their attention and care was what really made the stay special. The breakfasts were very fresh and tasty. The house itself is stunning, and the garden is beautifully maintained and such a joy to explore. The room was clean and decorated with both era-appropriate decor as well as paintings made by Jane herself, which were gorgeous! There are local amenities 5 minutes down the road with everything you would need, set in a idyllic countryside town. Overall, an excellent B&B that I would thoroughly recommend.
