The audio-guided tour is thorough, enjoyable but a little exhausting. We took 3-4 hours to walk through. Still, it is thrilling to visit a Roman bath excavation and see the wonders of it all up front and personal. The entrance fee is substantial but how often does one get to visit such a place?

If you go towards the end of the day it is a little quieter and you get to see the baths as the sun goes down with pool lit up with fire torches. Very atmospheric in the winter months. Allow yourself at least an hour and a half!

FANTASTIC cultural experience, but go early - we were in at 9.30am and narrowly avoided some enormous queues. PS take the free audio guide which contains gold mines of information not found in the exhibit.

We booked in advance for access as soon as the baths opened. It meant an early breakfast but was really worth it because as the day went on the baths got more and more busy. We had a chance to see everything close up at our own speed and without large crowds. I

Allow up to three hours for everything and use the free headphones for the museum, followed by a free guide in English round the baths themselves starting every hour. There is also a booklet for younger children to fill in if needed!

The location is unbeatable. It's between the Roman Baths and the Jane Austen Centre with many cafes and restaurants nearby. The apartment is clean and comfortable. It was very handy to have a washing machine/dryer on site mid-way through our vacation.

We loved the location. We were able to walk up to the hotel from the train station. It was a beautiful hotel in a perfect historic location. We were able to walk to town and visit different sites such as the Abbey and the Roman Baths. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast food which we did have to pay for was good and very reasonably priced.

The breakfasts were great. Hotel was right across the street from the train station, near the Roman Baths and close to the pickup point for small buses to Stonehenge.

Location: five minutes from the Roman Baths, across the street from the train station. Amenities: big, clean room with big windows--lots of light. Food: attached restaurant with excellent breakfast and great dinner menu. Staff: friendly, courteous, helpful, knowledgeable. Parking: two-level car park just up the street, plus hotel's own park. Weather: don't know how they managed this, forecast was for rain but we had sunny skies and warm temperatures the whole time. Now that's service!

The location is great---steps from the Roman Baths and restaurants and shops. The hotel is novel---all rooms open on a central courtyard and it's in an historic building. Our two rooms were perfect for our group of 5 (4 adults, one teenager). The kitchen was very functional so we were able to eat breakfast together in the room.

We were the very first lodgers to stay at this brand new apartment in the center of Bath, 0.30 mile from the train station; two minutes walk to the Roman Baths and the magnificent Cathedral. Ana was our superb host and welcomed us warmly. The clothes washer/dryer was great, the bed was super comfortable, and the kitchenette had every amenity.

The hotel is lovely and smells wonderful. The room was nicely appointed although a little on the small side and the bathroom was beautiful. The hotel is also a stone's throw from the Roman Baths and close to local shopping and restaurants. Recommend purchasing the shampoo/conditioner and moisturizer on checkout as they smell heavenly.

Amazing location, so central, within 5-10 minutes walk to everywhere in Bath such as the Roman Baths, the Crescent the Abbey, Thermae Spa, restaurants and shops. Beautifully furnished Georgian property, decorated very recently in a contemporary style and a surprisingly spacious apartment. Nespresso machine provided with capsules, bottled water in fridge and little traveller size luxury toiletries.
