There is a stunning sunroom adjacent to the main lounge/dining area. Perfect place to relax and soak up the breathtaking views soaked in Scottish history. (One thing to note is that the sunroom is like a conservatory and gets cold. At night, generally it should be shut off, and reheated if used during day). Dundurn Cottage boasts a fully modernised kitchen and bathroom apart from that the cottage is all about immersing in the beauty of a slower paced life. Roaring wood burning stove, plentiful board games and books for all generations, taking time to enjoy just sitting out enjoying the extensive grounds, watching red squirrels and a wide variety of bird life including eagles and Ospreys as they soar over Dundurn Hill. You also might be lucky enough to be mesmerised by deer grazing in the lower fields at dawn and dusk. All of this complimented by your own private river that flows through the land of Dundurn. Imagine casting a line here andcatching your own dinner or for children just enjoying skimming stones whilst the hot chocolate is being made and the fire is being stoked, awaiting their return. The Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park is to the southwest. DOG FRIENDLY!!
Guests have access to the whole property and it is set up to ensure that all guests have an amazing time. It is my passion to ensure that guests leave feeling like they have had a 5 star experience without the price tag! Dundurn Mill access is by key safe. Key code will be disclosed nearer the check in date. I own a cleaning company and since the pandemic I have under taken a course on cross-contamination. After each guests stay the property is strictly deep cleaned, all laundry and hard surfaces are given extra attention, ensuring the property is guest ready before their arrival.
The cottage looks out towards the Pictish hill fort of Dundurn, one of the most important hill forts in Scotland. Guests love the quirkiness of the property along with the originality that oozes out through the beautifully loved features! There is also a private jetty that can be accessed for guests wishing to bring their own boat where they can indulge in the delights of Loch Earn’s water sports or salmon or trout fishing. Dundurn is situated at Dunira, a rural hamlet between the villages of Comrie and St Fillans. Comrie (3.5 miles), which located on the River Earn, is a picturesque village with an active community life. Comrie caters for all basic requirements, while Crieff (10 miles) has a wider range of shops and services including a supermarket, cottage hospital, schooling and restaurants as well as the Crieff Hydro which offers an impressive range of facilities and outdoor activities. Perth is only 28 miles from Dundurn and has a more comprehensive selection of shops and professional services as well as a concert hall, cinema, theatre, museum and art gallery. Dundurn is ideally placed for those who enjoy the outdoors. Ben Vorlich and Loch Earn are only three miles away.
