We had a weekend in Owl Lodge and it was an exceptionally clean, well presented and beautiful relaxing place to stay. The site itself is perfect for a romantic couples getaway and it was a lovely birthday break for my partner (and I earned some serious brownie points 😂). Josephine was really welcoming and we had freedom to relax while we were there but knowing she would be available if we had any issues. Everything was top quality and to a high standard, from the complimentary breakfast hamper to the paid extras. We arranged to have a steak hamper and I arranged for my partner to have a massage with Shelley who was amazing, and all of the little details and finishing touches didn’t go unnoticed and made the whole experience really special.

Where else can you enjoy a luxury lodge or narrowboat hire, all with private hot tubs, garden areas with fire bowl BBQ's, a sauna with a view, a BBQ cabin, an aromatherapy steam cabin, massage treatments, a private fine dining experience and also the ability to drive the boat down a beautiful canal. No where but at Hawthorn Hideaway. If you are looking for somewhere special you have found it. This Hideaway is perfect for birthdays, anniversaries and minimoons. Why not treat that special someone? We provide a delicious breakfast hamper on arrival with enough produce to last 2-3 days, including eggs from our friendly free roaming chickens. Extras can be purchased to make your stay more special including massage treatments or private dining with your own private chef in the yurt, afternoon tea for 2, BBQ and steak hampers and celebration pack of flowers, balloons and locally handmade chocolates and a private, couples photoshoot shoot. The Chesterfield Canal has a green flag award and is a site of special scientific interest. There is 46 miles of towpath for walking and cycling.
