Lisle Combe is a 200 year old grade 2 listed property with unique architecture and style. It is steeped in literacy and world wide history which will be recognised by many. Connections with New Zealand, WW2, Napoleonic Wars, British Empire, America's Cup and Yachting history, even Royalty, Lisle Combe really is a special place to be. We are a family run business and welcome all visitors who wish to escape from the hustle and bustle of the 21st century. We hope that all our guests, from walkers to historians, will love the relaxed and friendly atmosphere at Lisle Combe. We have three bed and breakfast rooms, which can be used in a number of combinations from single occupancy to doubles, or twin beds with added beds for families too. All our rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, TV with DVD, hair dryer and separate wash basin. We have a range of toiletries in the private bathrooms with soft towels for our guests to use. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with additional seating for those times when you want to just sit and look out the window at the sea or garden view. We are the third generation of the Noyes family to live at Lisle Combe. No longer a time when gardeners and housekeepers are employed, the house is run by Ruth and Robert Noyes, with a bit of help from their boys!! Robert is the grandson of the poet, Alfred Noyes. You can even see the family resemblance in some of the portraits!! Ruth moved to the Island 30 years ago for a teaching job and has never left! Together we have become guardians of Lisle Combe, looking after it for as long as we can. Enjoying the lifestyle of living in such a wonderful house and welcoming guests to our home. We like to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, so please ask if you need anything, want directions to the best coves, ideas of what to do during your stay or a table booked at a local restaurant for your evening meal. We can even recommend local walks for all ages and abilities.
Lisle Combe is located in a quiet rural area on the south side of the Isle of Wight, just minutes away from rocky coves and beaches. Great for walkers and cyclists, Lisle Combe can be a base for the many excellent bridal paths and footpaths on the island. We are minutes away from the sub tropical Ventnor Botanic Gardens, our nearest cricket ground and the beach cafes of Steephill Cove. Ventnor is a 5 minutes drive or 30 minute walk along the undulating coastal path.
