Ryde
Located in Ryde, 9 miles from Shanklin, Stonelands House has a garden and free WiFi. The bed and breakfast offers a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with a hairdryer, free toiletries and shower. This is a beautiful house and gardens, with large stunning guest rooms that are immaculately presented and very comfortable. The host were welcoming, attentive and enjoyable to speak with throughout the whole of my stay. Ryde town and its lovely beaches are close by, with the location generally good for exploring the whole island.
It was good because it is a transport hub from which to see rest of the island. Hovercraft buses train. Ryde itself isn’t very prepossessing but I don’t do beaches so maybe that is an attraction. It ‘s a good place for a base for seeing the island. They have a smutty postcard museum.
I love Ryde, used to live here. Could have stayed weeks. Steep high street but some good clubs & pubs, great food at a fair price. Room didn't have S/C and no kettle but apart from that it's brilliant. Book a week & buy a bus travel ticket. Weatherspoons is great for food, outside table area feels like Europe, weather feels like Europe
Super easy to get to the island from London with a one ticket train plus ferry, you can get to Ryde in 2 hours. The city is very small and can be visited in a day by foot. There's a nearby beach but I suggest to buy the train ticket to Sandown or Shanklin. There are a couple of activities to do, so I would recommend to spent at least one night in Ryde.
Easy to get to from the mainland and from there easy access to the rest of the Island - particularly if using the excellent bus services . Plenty of shopping facilities of all kinds plus pleasant walks out to Puckpool Park along the Solent and within easy reach of the gourmet restaurants of Seaview. Some good beaches also.
Ryde is probably more of a stopping off point rather than main base for Isle of Wight stay as there are areas with better scenery and beaches. However enjoyed the shopping and some decent restaurants.
Ryde is convienent for foot travellers from the mainland. The beaches surrounding Ryde are fine, but the tides makes it difficult for swimming at times... too far to walk to the sea. Ryde itself still needs some more modernisation, as some buildings arte looking tired.
Location good near buses and port. Breakfast buffet good. Staff helpful. We were given a room right at the top of the hotel, awkward stairs, which was not set up for our party of three adults. We were moved to a very nice room, one floor down, easy stairs, nice size, comfortable beds, nice bathroom, so we were very happy with our stay.
The hotel has great spa facilities, we especially like the bubble lounge in the spa area! Staff were nice and welcoming. Good size rooms and the beds were very comfy! Good location, 5 minutes from ferry and 10 mins from ryde. There’s a bus station right by the hotel for 15 min travel to ryde.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is ideal, close to Ryde High Street and the restaurants and bars/transport links on the seafront. The room was clean and tidy. The outside of the hotel is attractive with a generous beer garden and there is ample free off-street parking.
A great little apartment in the center of Ryde. Great for exploring the Island and a nice peaceful location. Good facilities and the apartment had everything you could need. Kerrie was a great host and it was nice to know she was only on the phone if there were any issues - but we had none!
The Marine is in a great central location in Ryde. It's close to the transport hub for ferries, trains, buses and taxis. There are lots of pubs, takeaways and restaurants nearby. Appley Beach and the coast path are just a long the promendade from the hotel - lovely!
good value. met expectations for the price paid- half the price of the next cheapest twin room in Ryde. it was clean and I slept well. that was my only requirements for this stay to sleep and have a shower. it was perfectly located for Ryde.
I was most impressed by the spotless room and bathroom. The room size was excellent, and the breakfast was also very good. Staff were helpful. The hotel is close enough to walk easily to town, but far away enough to be in a quiet area.

Bed was comfortable, but the hotel communal area a bit outdated. Apart of it, everything is perfect.
The flat is wonderful. The bath was lovely! We had a great little holiday in Ryde.
